This study explores the synthesis, characterization, and photocatalytic properties of bismuth metal-organic framework (Bi-MOF) nanorods and their derivatives such as Ag/Bi-MOF and Ag/BiO. Bi-MOF nanorods exhibit significant photocatalytic activity under visible light, with the addition of silver (Ag) enhancing electron-hole pair separation and reducing their recombination. The roles of Mn ions in the MnCO compound, leading to the formation of an Mn-Yb dimer and affecting the gain coefficient for the I → I transition of Er ions and near-infrared (NIR) emission bandwidth flatness of Er/Tm/Yb co-doped in SiO-ZnO-BaO (SZB) barium zinc silicate glasses, were investigated in this work. In this work, a gelatin/carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) base formulation was first modified by using different hydrocolloids like oxidized starch (1404), hydroxypropyl starch (1440), locust bean gum, xanthan gum, and guar gum. The properties of modified films were characterized using SEM, FT-IR, XRD and TGA-DSC before selecting of best-modified film for further development with shallot waste powder. SEM images showed that the rough or heterogeneous surface of the base was changed to more even and smooth depending on the hydrocolloids used while FTIR results demonstrated that a new NCO functional group non-existent in the base formulation was found for most of the modified films, implying that the modification led to the formation of this functional group.

In this study, g-CN/UU-200 heterojunction photocatalysts displaying superior photocatalytic activity for organic pollutant elimination under white LED light irradiation were fabricated an solvothermal method. The successful construction of a heterojunction between g-CN and UU-200 was evidenced by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. The improved photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) and tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) over g-CN/UU-200 compared with that over the individual components can be attributed to the anchoring of the g-CN layered structure on the UU-200 surface promoting the decrease of the bandgap of UU-200, as confirmed by ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, and to the light-induced charge separation efficiency stemming from a suitable heterojunction structure, which was revealed by photoluminescence spectroscopy and electrochemical analyses.
