Objectives: Ureterorenoscopy is seeing a bloom of technological advances, one of which is incorporating suction. The objective of this study is to systematically review existing literature regarding suction use in rigid and flexible ureterorenoscopy and perform meta-analysis of studies comparing suction versus no suction ureteroscopy or mini percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL).
Methods: A literature search was performed (November 2023) in MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane CENTRAL.

Background: Effective clinical education is essential for managing tracheostomy patients safely and efficiently. Simulation-based training has shown greater efficacy than traditional methods in various clinical settings. Our internal training programme, called the Tracheostomy Refresher Program (TRP) was used to enhance nurses' skills in tracheostomy care.

Methods: A PubMed search using the key words "simulation", "training", "ureteroscopy", "RIRS", "URS", "percutaneous nephrolithotomy", "PCNL", "virtual reality", "augmented reality", "artificial intelligence", "healthcare", "curriculum", and "assessment" was used to examine how education and training in urolithiasis have adapted over recent years. Focus was placed on the role of high- and low-fidelity simulation models, virtual reality and artificial intelligence, and standardised assessment and curriculum.

Introduction: Focal therapy (FT) is a promising alternative to whole-gland treatments for Localized Prostate Cancer. Ten different FT modalities have been described in literature. However, FT is not yet recommended by the International Guidelines, due to the lack of robust data on Oncological Outcomes.

Introduction: Focal therapy (FT) is a promising alternative with curative intent for Low- to Intermediate-risk localized Prostate Cancer (PCa), claiming better functional outcomes and safety profile than standard whole-gland treatments. Ten different FT modalities have been described in the literature. The objective of our narrative review is to evaluate the safety profile and functional outcomes of these different modalities and the current most used tools of assessment for those outcomes.

To evaluate the general practice among urologists about the use of various radiological imaging and measurement tools, and to compare the different preferences in radiological evaluations between Turkish and European urologists. Our study was designed as a survey study. The survey comprised 22 questions which evaluated the epidemiological information, caseload of participants, general preferences of participants on CT image slice thickness, basic radiologic workup routines prior to surgery, use of special tools and measurements on CT.

Background: Male circumcision is a well-known old surgery, and several recently developed techniques have been scaled up, including the introduction of laser technology, as alternative approaches to overcome morbidity of conventional surgery scalpel/suture method OBJECTIVES: We aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies comparing laser circumcision versus conventional circumcision technique in terms of perioperative outcomes and efficacy (complications, unacceptable appearance, reoperation rate) both in children and adults.
Materials And Methods: This review was performed following the 2020 Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses framework. Continuous variables were analyzed using the inverse variance of the mean difference with a random effect, 95% confidence interval (CI), and p-value.

Retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) is accepted as a primary modality for the management of renal stones up to 2 cm. The limitations of RIRS in larger volume stones include limited visualization due to the snow-globe effect and persistence of fragments that cannot be removed. We describe a new, simple, cost-effective modification that can be attached to any flexible ureteroscope which allows simultaneous/alternating suction and aspiration during/after laser lithotripsy using the scope as a conduit to remove the fragments or dust from the pelvicalyceal system called direct in-scope suction (DISS) technique.

The introduction of robotics has revolutionized surgery. Robotic platforms have also recently been introduced in clinical practice specifically for flexible ureteroscopy. In this paper, we look at the robotic platforms currently available for flexible ureteroscopy, describing their advantages and limitations.

Coated urethral catheters were introduced in clinical practice to reduce the risk of catheter-acquired urinary tract infection (CAUTI). We aimed to systematically review the incidence of CAUTI and adverse effects in randomized clinical trials of patients requiring indwelling bladder catheterization by comparing coated vs. non-coated catheters.

Purpose: We performed a systematic review comparing the incidence of infectious complications following transperineal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy (TPB) in cases utilizing antibiotic prophylaxis (AP) vs cases not utilizing antibiotic prophylaxis (NAP).
Materials And Methods: The incidences of complications were pooled using the Cochran-Mantel-Haenszel method with the random effect model and expressed as risk ratio (RR). RR higher than 1 indicates an increased risk of complication in patients undergoing TPB without antibiotics.

Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is the first-choice treatment of renal stones larger than 2 cm. We aimed to evaluate if lasers perform as equal as non-laser devices in patients with kidney stones candidate to PCNL. A comprehensive literature search was performed in MEDLINE through PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) to assess differences in the perioperative course, incidence of postoperative complications, and stone-free rate (SFR) in patients with kidney stones undergoing laser non-laser PCNL in randomized studies.

GreenLight laser™ photovaporization of the prostate (GLL-PVP) has become a valid alternative to traditional transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) in men requiring surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia. We aimed to review systematically the safety and efficacy of studies comparing GLL PVP and TURP in the medium-term. A comprehensive literature search was performed.
