Supporting optimal newborn nutrition and the positive maternal-infant relationship while encouraging safe sleep practices are essential components of maternal and newborn care in the hospital setting following birth. Breastfeeding is widely recognized as the best practice to support the nutritional needs and well-being of the infant, and recommendations have been developed by the WHO, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the United States Centers for Disease Control to encourage and successfully support breastfeeding efforts before hospital discharge. The 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, developed and promoted by the WHO, form the basis of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) and have become the international framework for public health initiatives to promote breastfeeding.

Background: While many falls are preventable, they remain a leading cause of injury and death in older adults. Primary care clinics largely rely on screening questionnaires to identify people at risk of falls. Limitations of standard fall risk screening questionnaires include suboptimal accuracy, missing data, and non-standard formats, which hinder early identification of risk and prevention of fall injury.

Percutaneous revascularization is the primary strategy for treating lower extremity venous and arterial disease. Angiography is limited by its ability to accurately size vessels, precisely determine the degree of stenosis and length of lesions, characterize lesion morphology, or correctly diagnose postintervention complications. These limitations are overcome with use of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS).

Introduction: The Shouldice method for inguinal hernia repair remains the gold standard for prosthesis-free repairs. Nonetheless, international guidelines have favored posterior mesh reinforcement as the standard of care for inguinal hernia repair due to lower risk of recurrence and chronic pain, avoidance of general anesthesia, and favorable biomechanical properties. Recent publications have shown the benefits of an open approach to posterior repairs.

The adult service system does not adequately meet the needs of autistic adults, prompting families to continue their supportive roles. Siblings frequently assume these roles when parents are no longer able to do so, often without preparation or planning. We received feedback on the proposed Siblings FORWARD (Focusing on Relationships, Well-being, and Responsibility aheaD) program concept, which would involve 6-7 individualized sessions over ~ 3 months and would facilitate siblings' proactive future planning involvement with their autistic family member.

Introduction: The size of a hiatal hernia (HH) is a key determinant of the approach for surgical repair. However, endoscopists will often utilize subjective terms, such as "small," "medium," and "large," without any standardized objective correlations. The aim of this study was to identify HHs described using objective axial length measurements versus subjective size allocations and compare them to their corresponding manometry and barium swallow studies.
