Synthesis of naphthalene bridged disilanes 2 (R = Me, Ph) was performed via catalytic dehydrocoupling. Using RhCl(PPh) as a catalyst, an intramolecular Si-Si bond was readily formed from the corresponding disilyl precursors 1 (R = Me, Ph). For catalytic reactions using (CF)B(OH), bridged siloxanes (3 and 3) were observed.
