We present a case of Acute Angle-Closure Crisis (AACC) precipitated by primary transient psychogenic polydipsia; we believe that our case is the first of its kind to be reported. A 74-year-old male presented to the emergency department with altered mental status due to acute-onset hyponatremia. Six days after admission, the patient noticed painful loss of vision in his right eye and an ipsilateral headache lasting 10-15 minutes.

First Report of Apple Chlorotic Leaf Spot Virus in Pome and Stone Fruit Trees in Azerbaijan.

No information is available on the occurrence of apple chlorotic leaf spot virus (ACLSV, genus Trichovirus, family Betaflexiviridae) in the country. Therefore, the main fruit tree production areas in Azerbaijan were surveyed for ACLSV during the 2017-2019 growing seasons by DAS-ELISA using ACLSV reagents (Neogen - Scotland, UK) (Clark and Adams 1977).

This objective of this communication is to provide an update from the Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH) and the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine (AACPM) with respect to the profession's residency interview process, otherwise known as the Centralized Residency Interview Process (CRIP). During the 2022-2023 academic year, CRIP returned to an in-person format following a period of virtual interviews during the COVID-19 pandemic. Survey data since this change indicate that a large majority of residency program directors and student applicants prefer an in-person format to the residency interview process.

Correlates of length of stay in a short-term inpatient residential addiction treatment facility.

Background: There is a gap in the extant literature regarding length of stay (LOS) in short-term inpatient addiction treatment facilities. Furthermore, there is a lack in focus on treatment factors which may be better indicators for positive patient outcomes than demographic profiles. The current study sought to examine modifiable correlates of LOS within a short-term inpatient residential facility to extend LOS and improve patient outcomes.
