Breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women. While advances in detection and treatment have improved survival, breast cancer survivors face an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. However, limited data exist on cardiac outcomes after ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in this population.

Background: Black individuals frequently present with resistant hypertension and disproportionately increased cardiovascular risk. We investigated the blood pressure (BP)-lowering effect of the dual endothelin receptor antagonist aprocitentan in Black individuals enrolled in the PRECISION study (Parallel-Group, Phase 3 Study with Aprocitentan in Subjects with Resistant Hypertension).
Methods: Patients with confirmed resistant hypertension were randomized to aprocitentan 12.

The chemical reduction of a pyracylene-hexa--hexabenzocoronene-(HBC)-fused nanographene TPP was investigated with K and Rb metals to reveal its multi-electron acceptor abilities. The reaction of TPP with the above alkali metals, monitored by UV-vis-NIR and H NMR spectroscopy, evidenced the stepwise reduction process. The use of different solvents and secondary ligands enabled isolation of single crystals of three different reduced states of TPP with 1, 2, and 3 electrons added to its π-system.

In abdominal X-ray examinations, radiosensitive organs such as the gonads within or near the imaging region are at risk of radiation exposure. Minimizing the dose to these organs is crucial to reducing unnecessary radiation. This study utilized optically stimulated luminescence dosimeters (OSLDs) to measure the radiation dose to the male gonads at varying kilovoltage peak (kVp) settings while keeping the milliampere-seconds (mAs) constant across different radiographic projections.

Significance: Radiofrequency ablation to treat atrial fibrillation (AF) involves isolating the pulmonary vein from the left atria to prevent AF from occurring. However, creating ablation lesions within the pulmonary veins can cause adverse complications.
Aim: We propose automated classification algorithms to classify optical coherence tomography (OCT) volumes of human venoatrial junctions.

Background: US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) eligibility policies now allow comprehensive mental and behavioral health care services to be provided to veterans who received an Other Than Honorable (OTH) discharge upon separation from service. Research has shown a disproportionate mental health burden and elevated rates of criminal-legal involvement among these veterans. Eligibility policy shifts may impact programs and services designed to support veterans with criminal-legal involvement, such as veterans treatment courts.

Introduction: SPLASH (NCT04647526) is a multicenter phase III trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of [Lu]Lu-PNT2002 radioligand therapy in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). This study leveraged a lead-in phase to assess tissue dosimetry and evaluate preliminary safety and efficacy, prior to expansion into a randomized phase. Here we report those results.

Purpose: The estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) has historically been calculated with a race-coefficient multiplier (RCM); however, the RCM has been broadly criticized as inaccurate and a potential contributor to exacerbating disparities. We evaluated the impact of the RCM on eGFR and examined the 30-day post-cystectomy complications in a muscle-invasive bladder cancer cohort.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed patients diagnosed with MIBC who underwent cystectomy in the ACS NSQIP database from 2006 to 2020 using CPT and ICD codes.

Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a dynamic process of lineage plasticity in which epithelial cancer cells acquire mesenchymal traits, enabling them to metastasize to distant organs. This review explores the current understanding of how lineage plasticity and phenotypic reprogramming drive prostate cancer progression to lethal stages, contribute to therapeutic resistance, and highlight strategies to overcome the EMT phenotype within the prostate tumor microenvironment (TME). Emerging evidence reveals that prostate tumor cells can undergo lineage switching, adopting alternative growth pathways in response to anti-androgen therapies and taxane-based chemotherapy.

Unlabelled: Septal reduction therapy is an effective treatment for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). Alcohol septal ablation (ASA) is indicated for HOCM patients who are ineligible for surgical myectomy, but several tips exist for the management of high-risk patients with ASA. Here, we present a case of successful ASA in a HOCM patient with multiple comorbidities, including severe obesity, drug-refractory bronchial asthma, poorly controlled diabetes, and steroid-induced immunosuppression.

Mutations in the collagen-modifying enzyme lysyl hydroxylase 1 (LH1) cause Warmblood Fragile Foal Syndrome (WFFS) in horses. We investigated the impact of this mutation on collagen structure and function. Our results show that LH1 deficiency leads to reduced lysine hydroxylation, altered collagen fibril organization, and tissue abnormalities resembling human Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

For birds breeding in the Arctic, nest success is affected by the timing of nest initiation, which is partially determined by local conditions such as snow cover. However, conditions during the non-breeding season can carry over to affect the timing of breeding. We used tracking and breeding data from 248 individuals of 8 species and subspecies of Arctic-breeding shorebirds to estimate how the timing of nest initiation is related to local conditions like snowmelt phenology versus prior conditions, measured by the timing and speed of migration.
