Objective: To measure the global impact of COVID-19 pandemic on volumes of IV thrombolysis (IVT), IVT transfers, and stroke hospitalizations over 4 months at the height of the pandemic (March 1 to June 30, 2020) compared with 2 control 4-month periods.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional, observational, retrospective study across 6 continents, 70 countries, and 457 stroke centers. Diagnoses were identified by their ICD-10 codes or classifications in stroke databases.
We present a case of the multiple venous intestinal infarction in patient with two inherited thrombophilias: Leiden factor V (LFV) and factor VIII elevation. The patient had a critical hypocoagulation caused by vitamin K antagonist (VKA) overdose. At laparotomy, several intestinal segments were necrotic and ischemic.

Prolong exposure to high intensity white noise (HIWN), defined as a heterogeneous mixture of sound waves extending over a wide frequency range, has detrimental peripheral and central consequences including cardiovascular and emotional effects. Anxiety is a common manifestation of HIWN. Although gender-dependent differences in manifestation of anxiety and/or response to treatment of this condition has been amply documented, potential differences in response to HIWN, a common exposure in combat, construction and rave disco, has not been adequately investigated.

Although the relationships between brain structure and emotions may alter across the life span, this relationship is of particular importance during aging when significant alterations in emotions may be manifested. Understanding the structural-behavioral relationship could not only provide a neurobiological basis of these changes, but could also suggest potential intervention. Since anxiety is commonly observed in aging population, we undertook this study to determine the extent of this behavioral manifestations as well as the associated ultrastructural changes in the amygdala.

In the present study, we assessed the ultrastructural alterations in selective auditory pathways of the rat brain following high intensity white noise exposure. In addition, learning, anxiety-like behavior and locomotor activity were assessed.

Short chain fatty acids, produced as gut microbiome metabolites but also present in the diet, exert broad effects in host physiology. Propionic acid (PPA), along with butyrate and acetate, plays a growing role in health, but also in neurological conditions. Increased PPA exposure in humans, animal models and cell lines elicit diverse behavioural and biochemical changes consistent with organic acidurias, mitochondrial disorders and autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

Hematological disorders caused by radiation remain the most challenging problem of the last decades. Environmental radiation, as well as medical application of radiation causes serious problems especially from the point of view of blood formation and passage of blood functional cells. Bone marrow emptying followed by the rise of immature cells in the bloodstream is the main pathology that must be eliminated.

Autism spectrum disorder is a group of life-long developmental syndromes, characterized by stereotypic behavior, restricted, communication deficits, cognitive and social impairments. Autism spectrum disorder is heritable state, provided by the mutations of well-conserved genes; however, it has been increasingly accepted, that most of such states are the result of complex interaction between individual's genetic profile and the environment that he/she is exposed to. Gut microbiota plays one of the central roles in the etiology of autism.

It is essential to assess risks connected with both planned and urgent surgical operations in order to control these risks. The following parameters are applied for evaluating post-operation cardiovascular risks connected with non-cardiovascular operations- type of surgical operations (according to the cardiovascular risk), the assessment of the functional condition of the patient, clinical factor risks of the cardiovascular complications.

In polytrauma induced sepsis/septic shock patients, early verification and diagnosing anemia, is an important factor for the outcome of pathology. The purpose of our study was: to study the dynamic correlation of the red blood markers and inflammatory indicators. We consider that knowing these mechanisms will be helpful in the management/treatment method selection and in making prognosis of the final outcomes of polytrauma induced sepsis /septic shock patients.

Possibilities of increasing the therapeutic efficacy in patients with perinatal central nervous system (CNS) lesions of hypoxic-ischemic and infectious etiology are considered. Some questions of pathophysiological features of hypoxic-ischemic CNS disorders in newborns and their connection with further cascade of pathological changes in organs and systems are highlighted. In this light, the authors substantiate the need for adequate and effective neuro- (cerebro-) protection by the timely antioxidant energy correction and antihypoxic therapy with cytoflavin.

Recently, the role of biomarkers to assist in the diagnosis and management of infections has been extensively explored. Based on the studies, Procalcitonin and Blood Lactic Acid can provide supportive data to clinical assessment in Polytrauma induced infectious pathology prevention, early evaluation, management of complications and predicting outcomes. We studied the cases of 21 patients who developed Polytrauma induced Sepsis/Septic shock during different stages of hospitalization.

It is known that in some pathological conditions, due to the formation of a large number of free oxygen radicals, the cardiovascular system is severely affected. However, the effect of free radicals on CGRP-mediated vasodilation remains unclear. The aim of this work was to study the effect of free radicals on CGRP-mediated neurogenic vasodilation on preparations of an isolated rabbit lingual artery.

Improving the results of hernia treatment and prevention of complications became a goal of our research which included two parts - experimental and clinical. Histomorphological and bacteriological researches showed that the best result out of the 3 control groups was received in case of covering implant "Coladerm"+ with chlorhexidine. Based on the experiment results working process continued in clinics in order to test and introduce new "coladerm"+ chlorhexidine covered poliprophilene meshes into practice.

Porosomes are the universal secretory portals at the cell plasma membrane where secretory vesicles dock and transiently fuse via the kiss-and-run mechanism of cellular secretion, to release intravesicular cargo to the outside of the cell. During last two decades discovery of porosome and a great volume of work from different laboratories provide molecular insights on the structure, function, and composition of the porosome complex, especially the neuronal porosome. In rat neurons 12-17 nm cup-shaped lipoprotein porosomes present at presynaptic membrane.
