Effective road terrain recognition is crucial for enhancing the driving safety, passability, and comfort of autonomous vehicles. This study addresses the challenges of accurately identifying diverse road surfaces using deep learning in complex environments. We introduce a novel end-to-end Tire Noise Recognition Residual Network (TNResNet) integrated with a time-frequency attention module, designed to capture and leverage time-frequency information from tire noise signals for road terrain classification.

Aims: The high salinity of soil, nutrient scarcity, and poor aggregate structure limit the exploitation and utilization of coastal mudflat resources and the sustainable development of saline soil agriculture. In this paper, the effects of applying exogenous organic acids combined with biological substrate on the composition and diversity of soil bacterial community were studied in moderately saline mudflats in Jiangsu Province.

Methods: A combination of three exogenous organic acids (humic acid, fulvic acid, and citric acid) and four biological substrates (cottonseed hull, cow manure, grass charcoal, and pine needle) was set up set up on a coastal saline mudflat planted with a salt-tolerant forage grass, sweet sorghum.

School of Automobile, Chang'an University, Middle Section of South Second Ring Road, Xi'an, 710064, China; Shandong Chambroad Logistics Co., Ltd. Boxing Economic Development Zone, Binzhou, 256500, China. Electronic address:

The economic and environmental impacts of the reverse logistics (RL) process (including drop-off, collection and transportation [C&T]) of the waste disposal chain are becoming increasingly prominent with the increasing generation of municipal solid waste (MSW) and promotion of MSW classification. Quantitative evaluation of this process from economic and environmental perspectives is of great significance for MSW management. This study focused on the financial capital, materials, and energy consumption in the RL process in Xi an City, China.

In order to cut down the usage amount of binder, mix it more evenly with the biomass raw materials and improve the quality of pellets in the densification process, this study explored the feasibility of promoting the densification of biomass by using a high-pressure spraying method to add liquid binder. In the study, a high-pressure sprayer was used to spray saturated brown sugar water into sawdust for densification tests. A three-factor orthogonal experiment was designed to analyze the physical characteristics of the pellets under different variables.

The highly crystallized molecular structure of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) makes the polymer with poor performance in mechanical strength and water resistance. To modify the molecular structure of PVA and to diminish the complicated procedures and environmental impacts, ferric ions (in ion composite form) have been used to set the interactions with the molecule chains of PVA. The crystallinity, chemical groups change, and mechanical performance of the polymer has been confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscope (FTIR), and the bonding/membrane tensile strength test.

The binder can improve the physical characteristics of biomass pellets by forming solid bridges and increasing the adhesion of biomass materials. Taking pine sawdust as raw material and brown sugar water with different concentration as a binder, this study adopted spraying and stirring methods, respectively, and mixed brown sugar water with biomass in diverse proportions. The characteristic of pellets such as durability, relaxation ratio and compressive strength were studied by orthogonal design.
