Gastrointestinal nematodes (GINs) are among the most common parasites of humans, livestock, and companion animals. GIN parasites infect 1-2 billion people worldwide, significantly impacting hundreds of millions of children, pregnant women, and adult workers, thereby perpetuating poverty. Two benzimidazoles with suboptimal efficacy are currently used to treat GINs in humans as part of mass drug administrations, with many instances of lower-than-expected or poor efficacy and possible resistance.

People diagnosed with pelvic organ prolapse (POP) face preference-sensitive treatment decisions. We conducted a systematic review, meta-analysis, and narrative synthesis to determine the effect of decision-making interventions for prolapse on patient-reported outcomes. To gain a more complete understanding of all potentially accessed resources, we also conducted an environmental scan to determine the quantity and quality of online interventions for prolapse decision-making.

Objectives: Massachusetts signed into law An Act Modernizing Tobacco Control (hereinafter, the Act) in 2019, which restricted retail sales of flavored tobacco products, including menthol cigarettes. This study assessed differences in advertising exposure to flavored tobacco products among adolescents in Massachusetts compared with adolescents in 4 neighboring states after passage of the Act.
Methods: We collected monthly cross-sectional survey data from April 2021 through August 2022 among a convenience sample of adolescents (aged 13-17 y) in Massachusetts and 4 control states: Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

The calculation of the relative bioavailability (RBV) of rumen-protected AA supplements using the plasma free AA dose-response technique currently relies on blood samples obtained 2, 4, 6, and 8 h after the 0500 h feeding during the last 3 d of each period in Latin square experiments with cows fed every 8 h (0500, 1300, and 2100 h). The objective of this study was to determine if this current blood sampling protocol captures the changes that may occur in plasma Met concentrations within a 24-h day to adequately determine the RBV of Met from Smartamine M (SM). Five multiparous lactating Holstein cows were used in a 5 × 5 Latin square design with 7-d periods.

Background: The objective was to summarize the methodology used to reach consensus for recommended minimum data elements that should be collected and reported when conducting injury surveillance research in military settings. This paper summarizes the methodology used to develop the international Minimum Data Elements for surveillance and Reporting of Musculoskeletal Injuries in the MILitary (ROMMIL) statement.
Methods: A Delphi methodology was employed to reach consensus for minimum reporting elements.

The development of computational models for the prediction of cardiac cellular dynamics remains a challenge due to the lack of first-principled mathematical models. We develop a novel machine-learning approach hybridizing physics simulation and graph networks to deliver robust predictions of cardiomyocyte dynamics. Embedded with inductive physical priors, the proposed constraint-based interaction neural projection (CINP) algorithm can uncover hidden physical constraints from sparse image data on a small set of beating cardiac cells and provide robust predictions for heterogenous large-scale cell sets.

Background: Online child sexual victimization is increasingly facilitated by technology, but evidence of its prevalence and characteristics remains scarce. Reliable population-based data is critical to understand the magnitude and nature of the problem, and inform evidence-based prevention.
Objective: To determine the prevalence of nonconsensual sharing of sexual images of the child by any perpetrator, and of online sexual solicitation by any adult perpetrator; and to determine the characteristics of these experiences.

Background: Little population-based evidence exists about prevalence of lifetime disclosure and non-disclosure of child sexual abuse (CSA). Evidence is lacking about disclosure by girls and women compared with boys and men, and gender diverse individuals. It is unclear if disclosure is more common in contemporary society, and if disclosure is influenced by abuse severity and perpetrator type.

Objective: The objective of this trial was to determine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effectiveness of sharing audio recordings of primary care visits with older adults with multimorbidity.
Methods: We used a two-arm, randomized, controlled, feasibility trial with 3-month follow-up. Patients aged ≥ 65 years-with diabetes and hypertension-were recruited from academic primary care settings in New Hampshire, Tennessee, and Texas.

Rationale: Race-based estimates of pulmonary function in children could influence the evaluation of asthma in children from racial and ethnic minoritized backgrounds.
Objectives: To determine if race-neutral (GLI-Global) versus race-specific (GLI-Race-Specific) reference equations differentially impact spirometry evaluation of childhood asthma.
Methods: The analysis included 8,719 children aged 5 to <12 years from 27 cohorts across the United States grouped by parent-reported race and ethnicity.

Background: The rapid development of COVID-19 vaccines may have raised public concerns about their safety and side effects in the United States (US). This study aimed to assess trends in online searches related to the safety and side effects of COVID-19 vaccines in the US from 2021-2022.
Methods: Google COVID-19 Vaccination Search Insights was used to analyze searches about COVID-19 vaccine safety and side effects in the US from January 4, 2021, to November 21, 2022 (98 weeks).

Savin et al. report a retrospective analysis of ABO-incompatible red cell transfusions in the United Kingdom, France and Germany. In spite of varied strategies for bedside preventative measures, all three countries continue to identify preventable errors leading to ABO-incompatible red cell transfusions.

Background: Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) are any videos or images of individuals under the age of 18 engaging in sexually explicit activities or positions. The incidence and scope of CSAM has increased since the COVID-19 pandemic; however, the prosecution of such crimes has not risen at the same rate.
Objective: This study presents exploratory qualitative findings regarding prosecutors' challenges prosecuting CSAM cases from the perspectives of experienced CSAM prosecutors.

Phylosymbiosis, the association between the phylogenetic relatedness of hosts and the composition of their microbial communities, is a widespread phenomenon in diverse animal taxa. However, the generality of the existence of such a pattern has been questioned in many animals across the tree of life, including small-sized aquatic invertebrates. This study aims to investigate the microbial communities associated with poorly known marine interstitial nemerteans to uncover their microbiota diversity and assess the occurrence of phylosymbiosis.

Purpose: Imaging phantoms with known anisotropic mechanical properties are needed to evaluate magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) methods to estimate anisotropic parameters. The aims of this study were to fabricate mechanically anisotropic MRE phantoms, characterize their mechanical behavior by direct testing, then assess the accuracy of MRE estimates of anisotropic properties using a transversely isotropic nonlinear inversion (TI-NLI) algorithm.
Methods: Directionally scaled and unscaled lattices were designed to exhibit anisotropic or isotropic mechanical properties.
