A Visit-Associated Logistics Framework Describing Challenges Faced by Caregivers of Older Adults.

Unpaid family caregivers are assuming increasing levels of care as the healthcare system prioritizes aging in place over institutionalized care. Among their many responsibilities, coordinating in-person clinical visits is a critically important yet understudied area. This logistical aspect of caregiving for older adults is complex as it is influenced by many different medical-psycho-social factors.

The cognitive functioning of older adult instrumental musicians and non-musicians.

This study examined similarities and differences in the cognitive profiles of older adult instrumental musicians and non-musicians. We compared neuropsychological test scores among older adult non-musicians, low-activity musicians (<10 years of lessons), and high-activity musicians (≥10 years of lessons), controlling for self-reported physical and social activity, years of education, and overall health. Significant differences among groups were found on tasks of visual spatial ability, naming, and executive functioning.
