Purpose: To compare the long-term results of the Kite and Ponseti methods of manipulation and casting for clubfoot.

Methods: 42 patients (with 64 idiopathic clubfeet) were equally randomised to Kite or Ponseti treatments in the early weeks of life. 14 males and 7 females (34 clubfeet) were treated by the Kite method, whereas 13 males and 8 females (30 clubfeet) were treated by the Ponseti method.

A Study of QT Interval and QT Dispersion During Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.

The study was carried out randomly in 20 patients of ASA grade I and II of either sex, between the ages of 25 and 65 years scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy. We studied the effect of intraperitoneal CO(2) insufflation with head up position, on RR interval, QT interval, QTc interval, QT Dispersion, QTc Dispersion using computerized measurement with the help of 12 lead ECG. The RR interval did not change significantly during the study but there was statistically significant increase in QT interval, QTD and QTcD.

Leptospirosis is perhaps the most common, most wide spread yet under diagnosed zoonosis in the world, Inada et al identified the causal agent in Japan in 1916. Microscopic agglutination test (MAT) developed initially by Martin and Pettit (1918) is the reference method that was successively done after ELISA test to evaluate and compare and make a reliable diagnosis. Blood samples were collected from August 2004 to September 2004 from hospitalized patients of South Gujarat region who were clinically suspected cases of leptospirosis according to WHO case definition.

Metastasis of mesothelioma of the pleura, to the skin and subcutis is an extremely rare occurrence. A 25 year old woman, who had undergone chemotherapy, partial excision of tumor followed by radiotherapy of sarcomatoid mesothelioma of the pleura, presented three months later with painless widespread subcutaneous nodules. FNAC of these nodules reveled pleomorphic malignant spindle shaped cell with epithelioid morphology.
