Background: Despite being at high risk for depression, patients with childhood-onset systemic lupus erythematosus (c-SLE) are infrequently and inconsistently screened for depression by their pediatric rheumatologists. We aimed to systematically increase rates of formal depression screening for c-SLE patients in an academic Pediatric Rheumatology clinic.

Methods: Our multi-disciplinary quality improvement (QI) team used electronic health record (EHR) documentation to retroactively calculate baseline rates of documented depression screening using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9).

Engaging in socially embedded actions such as imitation and interpersonal synchrony facilitates relationships with peers and caregivers. Imitation and interpersonal synchrony impairments of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) might contribute to their difficulties in connecting and learning from others. Previous fMRI studies investigated cortical activation in children with ASD during finger/hand movement imitation; however, we do not know whether these findings generalize to naturalistic face-to-face imitation/interpersonal synchrony tasks.

Efforts in genome sequencing in the genus have led to the development of quality reference genomes for several important species including , , and However, less progress has been made for As part of the effort of the USDA-ARS Annual Aflatoxin Workshop Fungal Genome Project, the isolate NRRL3357 was sequenced and resulted in a scaffold-level genome released in 2005. Our goal has been biologically driven, focusing on two areas: isolate variation in aflatoxin production and drought stress exacerbating aflatoxin production by Therefore, we developed two reference pseudomolecule genome assemblies derived from chromosome arms for two isolates: AF13, a MAT1-2, highly stress tolerant, and highly aflatoxigenic isolate; and NRRL3357, a MAT1-1, less stress tolerant, and moderate aflatoxin producer in comparison to AF13. Here, we report these two reference-grade assemblies for these isolates through a combination of PacBio long-read sequencing and optical mapping, and coupled them with comparative, functional, and phylogenetic analyses.

Study Design: Retrospective comparative cohort study.

Objective: To compare radiographic parameters between adolescents with a greater body mass index (BMI) percentile to underweight individuals.

Summary Of Background Data: Increased BMI percentile has been associated with increased complications after surgical correction of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS).

Objectives: The efficacy of ketamine in relieving complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) lacks predictive factors. The value of three-phase bone scintigraphy (TPBS) was assessed for this purpose.

Materials And Methods: TPBS was performed in 105 patients with unilateral, focal CRPS of type 1 before 5 days of ketamine infusions.

Cognitive reserve (CR) is a protective mechanism that supports sustained cognitive function following damage to the physical brain associated with age, injury, or disease. The goal of the research was to identify relationships between age, CR, and brain connectivity. A sample of 90 cognitively normal adults, ages 45-64 years, had their resting-state brain activity recorded with electroencephalography (EEG) and completed a series of memory and executive function assessments.

Dermoid cysts are rare masses of the oral cavity derived from ectodermal elements. These are benign, slow-growing tumors that are typically asymptomatic but cause complications of inflammation or dysphagia, dystonia, and airway encroachment due to mass effects. We report the case of a 17 year old female with a painless mass in the left side of the oral cavity.

Pediatric cholangiopathies: diseases of the gallbladder and biliary tract.

Abdom Radiol (NY)

Department of Radiology, Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU, 1101 E. Marshall St., Room 4-052, Richmond, VA, 23298, USA.

Pediatric gallbladder and bile duct disease encompasses a broad spectrum of processes, from congenital to developmental to neoplastic. We describe normal pediatric biliary anatomy and summarize the most common pathologic entities, with a focus on non-invasive imaging techniques and findings. Ultrasound is the first-line imaging modality in children with suspected biliary pathology based on its widespread availability, cost effectiveness, and lack of ionizing radiation.

Food and Drug Administration in the United States has approved the (PCSK9) inhibitors alirocumab and evolocumab as an adjunct to diet and maximally tolerated statin therapy for adults with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) or clinical atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease requiring additional lowering of LDL-C. Evolocumab has also been approved for homozygous FH. Long-term outcomes studies are pending.
