Given the large number and diverse types of PTSD symptoms, examination of subtypes within the comprehensive PTSD criteria is necessary. This is especially true for subpopulations of active-duty service members such as specialized military units that undergo assessment and selection, receive extensive training, and have significant operational experience and trauma exposure. The current study identified PTSD subtypes in 16,284 U.

Single-cell sequencing has revolutionized our understanding of cellular heterogeneity and cell state, enabling investigations across diverse fields such as developmental biology, immunology, and cancer biology. However, obtaining a high-quality single-cell suspension is still challenging, particularly when starting with limited materials like Zebrafish embryos, a powerful animal model for studying developmental processes and human diseases. Here, we present an optimized protocol for isolating single cells from individual zebrafish embryos, offering a valuable resource for researchers interested in working with limited starting material.

Malignant transformation of vestibular schwannomas (VSs), though rare, demands a comprehensive, multidisciplinary treatment approach to optimize patient outcomes. We present a rare case of malignant transformation in a VS after radiation treatment in a 58-year-old woman (Video 1). Initially diagnosed with a right cerebellopontine angle VS, the patient underwent CyberKnife (Accuray, Madison, Wisconsin, USA) treatment 16 years ago, receiving 18 Gy across 3 fractions.

The main deterrent to long-term space travel is the risk of Radiation Exposure Induced Death (REID). The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has adopted Permissible Exposure Levels (PELs) to limit the probability of REID to 3% for the risk of death due to radiation-induced carcinogenesis. The most significant contributor to current REID estimates for astronauts is the risk of lung cancer.

It is estimated that 1 in 36 children are affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the United States, which is nearly a twofold increase from a decade ago. Recent genetic studies have identified de novo loss-of-function (dnLoF) mutations in the Down Syndrome Cell Adhesion Molecule (DSCAM) as a strong risk factor for ASD. Previous research has shown that DSCAM ablation confers social interaction deficits and perseverative behaviors in mouse models.

Background: In adults, upfront intraoperative cholangiogram with laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) is well accepted for management of choledocholithiasis. Despite recent evidence supporting LCBDE utility in children, there has been hesitation to adopt this surgery first (SF) approach over ERCP first (EF) due to perceived technical challenges. We compared rates of successful stone clearance during LCBDE between adult and pediatric patients to evaluate if pediatric surgeons could anticipate similar rates of successful clearance.

Background: Choledocholithiasis in children is rising and frequently managed with an endoscopy-first (EF) approach that utilizes endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) followed by laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is a resource intensive modality that often precedes ERCP to gain further assurance of choledocholithiasis prior to intervention. MRCP can lead to a longer length of stay (LOS) and strain healthcare resources.

Fluoroscopy is required for both LCBDE and ERCP but fluoroscopic time (FT) and radiation dose (RD) in LCBDE has not been studied.
Methods: The Choledocholithiasis Alliance for Research, Education, and Surgery (CARES) Working Group conducted this retrospective study on pediatric patients with suspected choledocholithiasis who received IOC.

Metastasis is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. It is unclear how intratumor heterogeneity (ITH) contributes to metastasis and how metastatic cells adapt to distant tissue environments. The study of these adaptations is challenged by the limited access to patient material and a lack of experimental models that appropriately recapitulate ITH.

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of a household food-waste prevention and minimization intervention, titled the Culinary Home Empowerment for Food Waste Prevention and Minimization (CHEF-WPM), which consists of a culinary education video series for home cooks. The specific aims are to (1) assess the effects of the intervention at a population level across process (feasibility, usage, acceptability, satisfaction) and preliminary efficacy (motivation, opportunity, ability) metrics and (2) assess the effects of the intervention at a community level across process (feasibility, usage, acceptability, satisfaction) and preliminary efficacy (motivation, opportunity, ability, household food waste, sustainable dietary practices) metrics. The intervention includes eight modules, each containing three to five brief videos, as well as downloadable recipes and worksheets.

In this study, we explored explanations for the link between self-compassion and psychological well-being among a sample of adult childhood sexual abuse (CSA) survivors in the United States ( = 335). Informed by Neff's self-compassion theory, we hypothesized that the relationship between self-compassion and psychological well-being would be partially explained by a reduction in emotional dysregulation and trauma-related shame. We tested a parallel multiple mediation model with (a) emotion dysregulation and (b) trauma-related shame as the mediators.

We report a measurement of exclusive J/ψ and ψ(2s) photoproduction in Au+Au ultraperipheral collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV using the STAR detector. For the first time, (i) the ψ(2s) photoproduction in midrapidity at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider has been experimentally measured; (ii) nuclear suppression factors are measured for both the coherent and incoherent J/ψ production. At average photon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 25.

We aimed to determine the most significant barriers to performing LCBDE and to identify the highest yield interventions to facilitate adoption.
Methods And Procedures: A national survey was designed by content experts, who regularly perform LCBDE.

Purpose: Depressive symptoms during the perinatal period have broad and enduring health implications for birthing parents and their offspring. Rising prevalence rates of perinatal depression highlight the need for research examining factors influencing depressive symptoms during pregnancy, and trajectories during the early postnatal period. Grounded in bioecological systems theory, this longitudinal multimethod study examined whether prenatal bioecological factors predict depressive symptoms from pregnancy to 36 months postpartum.

Maxillofacial trauma (MFT) caused by falls, interpersonal violence or traffic accidents leading to fractures of different facial regions, including the midface and the mandible, are common clinical conditions requiring open reduction and internal fixation. The aim of this study was to analyze the incidence and time trends in MFT-associated surgeries regarding different facial regions in the German healthcare system over time. Nationwide data regarding the national diagnosis-related group (DRG) inpatient billing system was received from the German Federal Statistical Office for the years 2005-2022.
