Introduction: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the first measured blood urea nitrogen (BUN)/albumin ratio in the emergency department (ED) as a predictor of in-hospital mortality in older ED patients.
Methods: This retrospective observational study was conducted at a university hospital ED. Consecutive patients aged 65 and over who visited the ED in a three-month period were included in the study.

Background: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of the Buford complex and to investigate its association with labral pathologies (superior labrum anterior-posterior [SLAP] lesion and anterior, posterior, or multidirectional instability) using a very large patient database. Furthermore, the prevalence of the Buford complex in patients without any labral pathology was also determined.
Methods: A total of 3129 consecutive shoulder arthroscopy procedures were retrospectively evaluated for the presence of the Buford complex and coexisting labral pathologies.

Objective: The objective of the study was to evaluate the effect of peritoneal re-approximation at the end of the procedure in transperitoneal robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (tRARP) and extended pelvic lymphadenectomy (ePLND) on operative, oncologic, and symptomatic lymphocele rates.
Material And Methods: A total of 79 patients were included in the study who underwent tRARP and bilateral ePLND performed by two different experienced surgeons. One of the surgeons performed the peritoneal re-approximation (Group 1, n=41) and the other did not re-approximate the peritoneum (Group 2, n=38) at the end of the procedure in tRARP and ePLND.

Myiasis is defined as follows; some flies lay their eggs and larvae on live organs and tissues or on cavities of nose, eye, ear and etc of humans or animals and the larvae develop there and cause pathological disorders. One of the rare types of myiasis is the urogenital myiasis. This condition has been associated with covering urogenital area with clothes in almost all populations and therefore, less chance for flies to reach this site and lay their eggs.

Objective: In the present study, in thorax ultrasonography (USG) Doppler images obtained from cases with occult pneumothorax, we investigated the status of pulsatile pleural sounds over the pleural line and called these as the pleural sound sign (PSS). The purpose of the present study was to identify the efficacy of the proposed PSS in diagnosing pneumothorax and to compare it with the other USG findings including the sliding lung sign (SLS) and seashore sign (SSS).

Background: In this study, we aim to evaluate the potential effects of methylprednisolone on the neurological outcome of spinal cord injury (SCI) patients with thoracolumbar junction (T10-L1) spine fractures.
Methods: The data from 182 SCI patients who sustained a thoracolumbar junction spine fracture were operated by us between September 2008 to January 2015 were analysed retrospectively. The patients were divided into two groups: Group 1 underwent methylprednisolone treatment in conjunction with early surgical intervention, while group 2 underwent only early surgical intervention without methylprednisolone treatment.

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the accompanying intra-articular pathologies in patients who underwent arthroscopic distal clavicle resection (DCR) for symptomatic acromioclavicular (AC) joint degeneration based on age groups and to reveal which additional pathologies should be considered across different age groups during physical examination of patients suspected of AC joint degeneration.
