Flavoprotein monooxygenases(FPMOs) and cytochrome P450(CYP450) oxygenases are pivotal monooxygenases in nature, catalyzing crucial redox reactions in diverse biological processes and contributing to the synthesis of highly complex natural products. While CYP450 enzymes have been extensively reported and studied, numerous FPMOs have also been discovered in past research endeavors, yet their classification, catalytic reactions, and catalytic mechanisms remain to be systematically analyzed. This paper comprehensively reviews the latest advancements in FPMOs research, initiating with a classification based on sequence similarities and distinct structural features.

Background: The mechanism of ferroptosis is primarily driven by the iron-dependent lethal accumulation of membrane lipid peroxidation. Bavachin has been found to exacerbate lipid peroxidation in cancer cells; however, whether it hinders hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression by way of ferroptosis remains unknown.
Methods: Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay was used to measure the effect of Bavachin on the viability of HCC cells, so as to determine the appropriate drug concentration for subsequent experiments.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which originates from hepatocytes, accounts for the majority of primary liver cancers. Globally, HCC ranks among the most common cancers and is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Obesity, a growing health issue worldwide, is increasingly recognized as a critical risk factor for HCC, influenced by both epidemiological and clinical factors.

Since the 1970s, artificial intelligence (AI) has played an increasingly pivotal role in the medical field, enhancing the efficiency of disease diagnosis and treatment. Amidst an aging population and the proliferation of chronic disease, the prevalence of complex surgeries for high-risk multimorbid patients and hard-to-heal wounds has escalated. Healthcare professionals face the challenge of delivering safe and effective care to all patients concurrently.

Methyleugenol is one of the main active constituents in the volatile oil of the traditional Chinese medicine Asari Radix et Rhizoma. It possesses various pharmacological effects such as analgesic, anesthetic, and anti-inflammatory properties. In biosynthesis, the initial precursor phenylalanine is finally converted into methyleugenol through a series of intermediate compounds including coniferyl acid, courmaryl acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid/ferulic-CoA, coniferyl aldehyde, conferyl alcohol, cnfiferyl acetate, and eugenol/isoeugenol, which are produced through catalysis of a large number of enzymes.

Angiotensin-converting Enzyme 2 (ACE2) collaborates with Angiotensin (Ang) 1-7 and Mas receptors to establish the ACE2-Ang (1-7)-Mas receptor axis. ACE2 impacts lung function and can cause lung injury due to its inflammatory effects. Additionally, ACE2 contributes to pulmonary vasculature dysfunction, resulting in pulmonary hypertension.

The escalating airway management demands of cancer patients have prompted us to continually curate airway devices, with supraglottic airway devices (SADs) playing a significant role in this regard. SADs serve as instrumental tools for maintaining an open upper airway. Since the inception of the earliest SADs in the early 1980s, an array of advanced and enhanced second-generation devices have been employed in clinical settings.

Objectives: The long-term trends in crude mortality rates (CMRs) and age-standardized mortality rates characterized by Segi's world standard population (ASMRWs) of DMSCT in Pudong New Area (PNA), Shanghai, were evaluated from 1973 to 2019, and the role of demographic and non-demographic factors in the mortality of diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue (DMSCT) was explored.
Methods: The PNA district has the largest population and area in Shanghai. Therefore, the mortality registration system of the PNA district was used to calculate and verify the number of deaths.

Background: The prognostic assessment and therapeutic interventions of esophageal cancer (ESCA) require novel molecular targets. The prognostic value of necroptosis, a specific mode of programmed cell death strongly linked to cancer progression, remains largely unexplored in ESCA. The primary goal of this research is to develop a necroptosis-based prognostic signature, which will represent the microenvironmental characteristics and prognosis of individuals diagnosed with ESCA.

Novel drug discovery from the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine is the most distinctive feature and advantageous field of China, which has provided an unprecedented opportunity. However, there are still problems such as unclear functional substance basis, action targets and mechanism, which greatly hinder the clinical transformation of active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine. Based on the analysis of the current status and progress of innovative drug research and development in China, this paper aimed to explore the prospect and difficulties of the development of natural active ingredients from traditional Chinese medicine, and to explore the efficient discovery of trace active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine, and obtain drug candidates with novel chemical structure, unique target/mechanism and independent intellectual property rights, in order to provide a new strategy and a new model for the development of natural medicine with Chinese characteristics.

Background: Recent researches found that mitochondrial functions were substantially involved in tumor progression, whereas the particular mechanism is unrecognized. Coiled-Coil Domain-Containing Protein 58 (CCDC58), one of the mitochondrial matrix import factors, acts as a novel regulator or stabilizer involved in mitochondrial protein import machinery. Whether and how an up-regulation of CCDC58 causes poor prognosis of patients in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) still required further researches.

In recent years, the development of targeted covalent inhibitors has gained popularity around the world. Specific groups (electrophilic warheads) form irreversible bonds with the side chain of nucleophilic amino acid residues, thus changing the function of biological targets such as proteins. Since the first targeted covalent inhibitor was disclosed in the 1990s, great efforts have been made to develop covalent ligands from known reversible leads or drugs by addition of tolerated electrophilic warheads.

Qijiao Shengbai Capsule (QSC) is a reputable Miao Nationality medicine used for treating leukopenia, but its chemical composition has not yet been elucidated. We herein present a strategy, by integrating multiple data acquisition, computational data annotation and processing methods to visualize and identify the complicated constituents in QSC based on ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with traveling wave ion mobility quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-TWIMS-QTOF-MS). The multiple data acquisition modes, including data-independent mass spectrometry (MS), data-independent high-definition mass spectrometry (HDMS), and fast data-dependent acquisition (fast-DDA), in both positive and negative ion modes, were conducted on a Waters-SYNAPT G2-Si mass spectrometer with an ESI source.
