Background/objectives: Chronic pain impacts approximately 18% of the Spanish population, with low levels of vitamin D prevalent in over 80% of individuals over 65. Given vitamin D's critical role in pain modulation, its deficiency may be significantly linked to chronic musculoskeletal pain, though existing research offers mixed results.
Methods: This systematic review followed PRISMA guidelines, examining studies from PubMed, Cochrane, and PEDRO databases from 1990 onwards that investigated the relationship between vitamin D levels and chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Background: The main obstacle facing the utilization of microbial enzymes in industrial applications is the high cost of production substrates. As a result of the mentioned different wastes (coffee powder waste, dates nawah powder, molokhia stems, pea peels, lemon peels, and corn cobs) were investigated as low-cost nutritional substrates for the production of microbial β-galactosidase in this study. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics remains a significant clinical challenge, contributing to persistently high rates of morbidity and mortality. Expansion microscopy (ExM) is an innovative super-resolution imaging technique that utilizes physical expansion to magnify biological samples, facilitating the visualization of cellular structures that are challenging to observe using traditional optical microscopes. The fundamental principle of ExM revolves around employing a specialized hydrogel to uniformly expand biological samples, thereby achieving super-resolution imaging under conventional optical imaging conditions. This technology finds application not only in various biological samples such as cells and tissue sections, but also enables super-resolution imaging of large biological molecules including proteins, nucleic acids, and metabolite molecules.

Organophosphate pesticides (OPs) are causing non-selective inhibition in enzymatic bioreceptors, thus the enzymatic-inhibition-based traditional assays are not suitable for their specific detection in food and environmental samples. Chemical structures of all isolated compounds were established depending upon the spectroscopic data including, 1D and 2D NMR and HRMS. The design and synthesis of unique two series of fluorinated sulfonamides 3a-f and 5a-g utilizing nucleophilic aromatic substitution reactions of tetrafluorophthalonitrile 1 with various sulfonamides 2 under a variety of different reactions conditions were the key goals of the current research. The chemical composition of the generated products has been investigated via mass spectroscopy, HNMR, CNMR, infrared, and elemental analyzes. Antimicrobial studies were conducted in vitro to evaluate the activity of all new synthesized compounds against resistant strains.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD/BMD) is the most common type of muscular dystrophy, together with Becker muscular dystrophy represent more than half of all cases. DMD is a single-gene, X-linked recessive disorder that predominantly affects boys, causing progressive muscle deterioration and eventually leading to fatal cardiopulmonary complications. Background: Fanconi anemia is a genetically heterogeneous recessive disorder distinguished by cytogenetic instability, hypersensitivity to DNA crosslinking agents, increased chromosomal breakage, and disturbed DNA repair. To date, Fanconi anemia complementation group (FANC) includes 23 FANC genes identified of which, FANCA gene is the most commonly mutated. The mutation spectrum of the FANCA gene is highly heterogeneous with large intragenic deletions due to Alu elements-mediated recombination.

Methods: In this case-control study, miRCURY LNA miRNA PCR plasma panel (168 miRNAs) was applied and the expression of the altered miRNAs was then analysed by quantitative real time PCR for 120 COVID-19 patients (30 mild, 30 moderate, 30 severe, and 30 critical) and 30 healthy subjects.

Digital dermatitis (DD) is an infectious disease of the digital skin of dairy cows that is associated with compromised animal welfare and significant economic losses.
