Objective: Epilepsy is one of the most prevalent neurologic disorders, causing serious psychological problems and reducing quality of life. Although 20 different antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), 30% of patients have drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE). Considering the role of miR-146a and miR-134 in neuroinflammation and dendritic functionality, respectively, the aim of this study was the clinical evaluation of circulating miR-146a and miR-134 as novel noninvasive molecular markers for the prognosis of refractory epilepsy.

Purpose: Bladder cancer represents a major cause of malignancy-related morbidity and the most expensive per-patient-to-treat cancer, due to the lifelong surveillance of the patients. Accurate disease prognosis is essential in establishing personalized treatment decisions; yet optimum tools for precise risk stratification remain a competing task. In the present study, we have performed the complete evaluation of TP63 clinical significance in improving disease prognosis.

Background: Bladder cancer (BlCa) heterogeneity and the lack of personalised prognosis lead to patients' highly variable treatment outcomes. Here, we have analysed the utility of the GAS5 tumour-suppressor lncRNA in improving BlCa prognosis.
Methods: GAS5 was quantified in a screening cohort of 176 patients.

Objective: Although a number of familiar syndromes are associated with primary hyperparathyroidism (PHP), there is no information regarding the prevalence of PHP in other sporadic neuroendocrine diseases. The aim of this study is to investigate the prevalence of PHP in our group of patients with gastric carcinoid (GC) type 1 tumors.
Methods: Twenty-six patients with biopsy-proven GC type 1 tumors were retrospectively studied.
