Designing novel biologically active compounds with anti-inflammatory properties based on condensed quinazolines is a significant area of interest in modern medicinal chemistry. In the present study, we describe the development of promising new bioactive molecules through the bioisosteric replacement of a carbon atom with a sulfur atom in anti-inflammatory agents, specifically 3-methyl-2-oxo-2-[1,2,4]triazino[2,3-]quinazolin-6-yl)butanoate. Design and synthetic studies have led to the series of previously unknown substituted 2-[((3-R-2-oxo-2-[1,2,4]triazino[2,3-]quinazolin-6-yl)methyl)thio]carboxylic acids and their esters.

According to data in the literature, natural products and essential oils are often used in dental practice. To develop a new oromucosal spray for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity, clove CO extract and essential oils of lavender and grapefruit were used as active pharmaceutical ingredients. Clove extract was obtained by the method of subcritical extraction from various raw materials, the choice of which was based on the yield of the CO extract and the study of its phytochemical and microbiological properties.

In this work, we synthesized and confirmed the structure of several alkaloid N-oxides using mass spectrometry and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The formulation of biphasic gels as potential semi-solid carriers for hydrophilic and lipophilic active substances is promising for the development of pharmaceutical preparations. The aim of this study was to design a stable bigel composition and to determine the influence of the organogel/hydrogel ratio on the gel's physical-chemical and structural-mechanical properties. The investigated compositions of organogel/hydrogel remained stable at ratios ranging from 5/95 to 40/60.

Anxiety disorders are highly prevalent worldwide and can affect people of all ages, genders and backgrounds. Much efforts and resources have been directed at finding new anxiolytic agents and drug delivery systems (DDSs) especially for cancer patients to enhance targeted drug delivery, reduce drug adverse effects, and provide an analgesic effect. The aim of this study was (1) to design and develop novel nanofiber-based DDSs intended for the oral administration of new 1,2,3-triazolo-1,4-benzodiazepines derivatives, (2) to investigate the physical solid-state properties of such drug-loaded nanofibers, and (3) to gain knowledge of the anxiolytic activity of the present new benzodiazepines in rodents in vivo.
