NEW DATA ON HISTOGENESIS AND HISTOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF LUNG CANCER.

Background: Lung cancer (LC) is one of the most common malignant neoplasms in men around the world, which poses a number of important challenges for scientists.

Aim: To analyze the histogenesis, features of the histological structure, and growth of LC.

Materials And Methods: The surgical material of 81 patients with LC was studied.

Development and Piloting of a Mental Health Prevention and Referral Program for Veterans and Their Families in Ukraine.

Background: While growing evidence exists for the effectiveness of mental health interventions in global mental health, the evidence base for psychosocial supports is lacking despite the need for a broader range of supports that span the prevention-treatment continuum and can be integrated into other service systems. Following rigorous evaluation of the Common Elements Treatment Approach (CETA) in Ukraine, this article describes the development and feasibility testing of CETA Psychosocial Support (CPSS), a brief psychosocial prevention and referral program for Ukrainian veterans and their families.

Cpss Development: CPSS development used evidence-based CETA intervention components and was informed by a stakeholder needs analysis incorporating feedback from veterans and their families, literature review, and expert consultations.

ORGANIZATION OF OPHTHALMOLOGICAL CARE IN UKRAINE.

Objective: The aim: To consider the organization of ophthalmological care in Ukraine for cataract and glaucoma and find out whether it is appropriate to implement advanced good practices of reference countries for Ukraine.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The method of desk review was used, supported by secondary analysis of data, in particular legislative acts. The research included conducting expert interviews with ophthalmologist of the public and private sectors, heads of public healthcare institutions, and management of the National Health Service of Ukraine.

ANALYSIS OF THE INFLUENCE OF PROLONGED IRRADIATION ON HEMATOPOIETIC PROGENITOR CELLS IN GEL DIFFUSION CHAMBERS USING MATHEMATICAL MODELLING.

The development and initial validation of the Russian version of the BASIS-24.

Background: Efficient and linguistically appropriate instruments are needed to assess response to addiction treatment, including severity of addiction/mental health status. This is critical for Russian-speaking persons in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) where Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) remain underscaled to address expanding and intertwined opioid, HIV, HCV and tuberculosis epidemics. Common strategies in empirically supported psychological interventions for alcohol use disorders: A meta-review.

Issues: Despite the large number of effective psychological interventions for alcohol use disorders (AUD), there is still a lack of clarity concerning the strategies that make these interventions effective.

Approach: The overall goal of this review was to identify, examine and synthesise the information about common strategies from evidence-based psychological interventions for AUDs by conducting a review of systematic reviews, that is, a meta-review. We isolated the relevant primary studies from eligible systematic reviews and extracted information about the interventions from these studies to understand the strategies used.

Developing a Culturally Relevant Measure of Resilience for War-Affected Adolescents in Eastern Ukraine.

Psychosocial support in education that is provided during emergencies frequently aims to support children's resilience, but strong, contextual measures of resilience are in short supply in Eastern Europe. In this article, our aim is to describe the development and psychometric properties of the first measure of resilience for war-affected adolescents in Eastern Ukraine. We used qualitative methods to identify the main cultural characteristics of resiliency and then used these constructs to develop the measure.

The perception of health care quality by primary health care managers in Ukraine.

Background: Ukraine is reforming its health care system to improve quality of health care. Insight into how primary health care managers perceive quality is important for the ongoing reform as well as for the improvement of medical services.

Methods: An online survey was conducted as part of the Ukrainian-Swiss project "Medical Educational Development" in April-May 2019 based on the contact list of USAID project "Health Reform Support", and additionally on the database of the National Health Service of Ukraine and other channels.

Process evaluations of mental health and psychosocial support interventions for populations affected by humanitarian crises.

Background: Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) have been increasingly used to test the effectiveness of mental health and psychosocial support(MHPSS) interventions for populations affected by humanitarian crises. Process evaluations are often integrated within RCTs of psychological interventions to investigate the implementation of the intervention, the impact of context, and possible mechanisms of action. We aimed to explore limitations and strengths of how process evaluations are currently conceptualised and implemented within MHPSS RCTs specifically.

ON THE ORIGIN OF LUNG CANCER DEVELOPMENT.

In the review on the issues of histogenesis of lung cancer (LC), the significant results of experimental, pathological, immunohistochemical and molecular-biological studies are presented. However, until now, no data has been obtained that would allow scientists to come to an unambiguous decision about the origin and development of this disease. The question remains not yet fully understood, since researchers discuss the origin of LC development in a hypothetical form.

A qualitative exploration of daily path and daily routine among people in Ukraine who inject drugs to understand associated harms.

Background: Patterns of movement, heterogeneity of context, and individual space-time patterns affect health, and individuals' movement throughout the landscape is shaped by addiction, meeting basic needs, and maintaining relationships. Place and social context enable or constrain behavior and individuals use social networks and daily routines to accomplish individual goals and access resources.

Methods: This article explores drug use as part of daily routines and daily paths among people who inject drugs in Dnipro City, Ukraine.

Theory of Electron Correlation in Disordered Crystals.

This paper presents a new method of describing the electronic spectrum and electrical conductivity of disordered crystals based on the Hamiltonian of electrons and phonons. Electronic states of a system are described by the tight-binding model. Expressions for Green's functions and electrical conductivity are derived using the diagram method.

Crystal structure of poly[[di-aqua-tetra-μ-cyanido-platinum(II)iron(II)] methanol 4/3-solvate]: a three-dimensional Hofmann clathrate analogue.

In the title polymeric coordination compound, {[FePt(CN)(HO)]·1.33CHOH} , the Fe cation (site symmetry 4/) is coordinated by the N atoms of four cyanide anions (CN) and the O atoms of two water mol-ecules, forming a nearly regular [FeNO] octa-hedron. According the Fe-N and Fe-O bond lengths, the Fe atom is in the high-spin state.

Two-Step Spin Crossover in Hofmann-Type Coordination Polymers [Fe(2-phenylpyrazine){M(CN)}] (M = Ag, Au).

Two 2D Hofmann-type complexes of the composition [Fe(Phpz){M(CN)}] (where Phpz = 2-phenylpyrazine; M = Ag, Au) have been synthesized, and their spin-crossover (SCO) behavior has been thoroughly characterized. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that these complexes contain a crystallographically unique Fe(II) center surrounded by two axial Phpz ligands and four equatorial cyanide [M(CN)] bridges. It is shown that, using of a ligand with two aromatic rings, an advanced system of weak supramolecular interactions (metal-metal, C-H···M, and π···π stacking contacts) is realized.

PUBLIC CONFIDENCE IN FORMAL MEDICINE: CURRENT CONTEXT.

Objective: The aim: To explore the current context and the main factors of public confidence in formal medicine.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The article is based on the outcomes of a cross-sectional survey designed to reflect varied dimensions of individual/population' perception of healthcare services, namely: socio-demographic information, reflection on individuals' own health, confidence in healthcare services. A total of 2478 self-referred respondents took part in the survey.

HUMANIZED MODEL OF ISOLATED SUSPENSION CULTIVATION OF HEMATOPOIETIC PROGENITOR CELLS FOR THE INVESTIGATION OF IONIZING RADIATION INFLUENCE IN VIVO.

Objective: development of the humanized system for cells cultivation outside the human organism (human-mouse)and investigation of the influence of ionizing radiation in increasing doses on the colony-forming ability ofhematopoietic progenitor cells.

Materials And Methods: Bone marrow samples of individuals without blood system diseases were cultivated in geldiffusion chambers with semi-solid agar in the abdominal cavity of CBA mice exposed to ionizing radiation action.Cell aggregates, which were obtained in the culture of diffusion chambers in vivo, were counted and colony-formingefficiency of bone marrow cells was determined.

Mental health care in Eastern Europe and Central Asia: An analysis of needs and a call for greater investment.

Over the past decade, there has been increased attention to global mental health, which emphasizes improving access to quality mental health care in order to reduce the worldwide treatment gap. However, Eastern European and Central Asian countries and their specific mental health needs have largely been under-emphasized, evidenced by a dearth in literature and funding. Here, we provide an overview of the mental health needs in Ukraine and its challenges with quality care provision as a key example in highlighting these gaps, then broaden our discussion to include parallels with other countries in the Eastern European and Central Asian region.

Evaluating context and interest in training in evidence-based mental health care: a qualitative investigation among healthcare providers in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Objective: Increasing access to quality, evidence-based mental health treatments, including psychotherapy, is a global priority. Knowledge of factors associated with delivery settings is critical to ensure that new practices are appropriate and effectively adapted for novel settings. Understanding perceived needs for training and interest in ongoing education is one key factor.

A randomized-controlled trial of community-based transdiagnostic psychotherapy for veterans and internally displaced persons in Ukraine.

Background: There is limited research on community-based mental health interventions in former Soviet countries despite different contextual factors from where most research has been conducted. Ongoing military conflict has resulted in many displaced persons and veterans and their families with high burdens of mental health problems. Lack of community-based services and poor uptake of existing psychiatric services led to the current trial to determine the effectiveness of the common elements treatment approach (CETA) on anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTS) among conflict affected adults in Ukraine.
