Background: Lung cancer is the main cause of cancer death in the world, with small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) accounting for about 10-15% of all lung cancers. Although programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1)/programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) inhibitors represent a major breakthrough in SCLC treatment, only a minority of patients will benefit and there is still a lack of accurate biomarkers to guide clinical application. Inflammation plays a crucial role in tumorigenesis, tumor development, metastasis, and drug resistance, but there is limited research on the predictive value of these inflammatory indicators in SCLC.

The cost of caring for patients and their families in the midst of interconnected resource, ethical, moral, legal and practical considerations compromises a physician's emotional and physical well-being and therefore patient care. Whilst the cost of caring is historically best associated with compassion fatigue, data has suggested that this may extend to other related concepts, such as vicarious trauma, secondary traumatic stress and burnout. In particular, palliative care physicians are especially vulnerable as they witness and encounter more cases of death and dying.

Background: Although two recent phase III randomized controlled trials showed survival benefits of undergoing secondary cytoreductive surgery for an initial relapse of ovarian cancer, patients who received a poly-ADP ribose polymerase inhibitor (PARPi) as the first-line maintenance treatment, which is currently the standard treatment for advanced ovarian cancer, were not included in those trials. Therefore, determining an optimal treatment strategy, including secondary cytoreductive surgery, in patients whose cancer progresses even with PARPi treatment, is needed.

Primary Objective: To determine whether secondary cytoreductive surgery is beneficial in patients who have progressed on PARPi maintenance treatment.

Department of Haematology-Oncology, National University Cancer Institute Singapore, Singapore; Cancer Science Institute of Singapore, National University of Singapore, Singapore. Electronic address:

Background: Cancer care has evolved rapidly, increasing the demand on healthcare resources. While many non-oral cancer treatments are administered in the hospital, not all necessitate complex medical care. Treatments that can be administered subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or as short intravenous infusions with a low risk of extravasation can be safely administered in the community.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, accounting for around 30-60% of all cases. The management of DLBCL in Asia has several unmet needs due to the diversity of the population, the heterogeneity of local clinical guidelines for DLBCL and the wide disparity in resources and healthcare systems across different regions. Rituximab combined with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone (RCHOP) is widely recognized as the standard first-line treatment for DLBCL; however, alternative regimens are required to improve patient outcomes in challenging subtypes, such as patients with high International Prognostic Index scores, old/frail patients, and patients with double-hit and double-expressor DLBCL or concurrent central nervous system disease.
