Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) is expressed by the granulosa cells of the pre-antral and small antral follicles in the ovary. AMH serum levels are significantly higher in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) due to an increased antral follicle counts (AFC) and a higher production of AMH per antral follicle. This research is a cohort study design with a sample size of 60 female patients with (n = 30) and without PCOS (n = 30) in which the relationship between AMH serum level and other hormonal markers was explored.

Representing objects in space is difficult because sensorimotor events are anchored in different reference frames, which can be either eye-, arm-, or target-centered. In the brain, Gain-Field (GF) neurons in the parietal cortex are involved in computing the necessary spatial transformations for aligning the tactile, visual and proprioceptive signals. In reaching tasks, these GF neurons exploit a mechanism based on multiplicative interaction for binding simultaneously touched events from the hand with visual and proprioception information.

The paper studies the influence of magnetic field on magnetic and mechanical properties of Cu-Mn-Al alloy under annealing. The comparative analysis of the magnetic field orientation impact on solid solution decomposition processes in a fixed annealing procedure is held using the methods of low-field magnetic susceptibility, specific magnetization, and microhardness test. The paper highlights changes in the magnetic and mechanical properties of Cu-Al-Mn alloy as the result of change in a critical size of forming precipitated ferromagnetic phase and determines correlation in the behavior of magnetic and mechanical properties of the alloy, depending on a critical nucleus size of forming precipitated ferromagnetic phase.

This paper presents the first experimental evidence of pronounced electrification effects upon reversible cycle of forced water intrusion-extrusion in nanoporous hydrophobic materials. Recorded generation of electricity combined with high-pressure calorimetric measurements improves the energy balance of {nanoporous solid + nonwetting liquid} systems by compensating mechanical and thermal energy hysteresis in the cycle. Revealed phenomena provide a novel way of "mechanical to electrical" and/or "thermal to electrical" energy transformation with unprecedented efficiency and additionally open a perspective to increase the efficiency of numerous energy applications based on such systems taking advantage of electricity generation during operational cycle.

The development of the nanomaterials with the advanced functional characteristics is a challenging task because of the growing demand in the market of the optoelectronic devices, biodegradable plastics, and materials for energy saving and energy storage. Nanocellulose is comprised of the nanosized cellulose particles, properties of which depend on characteristics of plant raw materials as well as methods of nanocellulose preparation. In this study, the effect of the mechanochemical treatment of bleached softwood sulfate pulp on the optical and mechanical properties of nanocellulose films was assessed.

Background And Objective: Nocturnal hypoglycemia (NH) is common in patients with insulin-treated diabetes. Despite the risk associated with NH, there are only a few methods aiming at the prediction of such events based on intermittent blood glucose monitoring data and none has been validated for clinical use. Here we propose a method of combining several predictors into a new one that will perform at the level of the best involved one, or even outperform all individual candidates.

Magnetoactive elastomers (MAEs) are composite materials comprised of micrometer-sized ferromagnetic particles in a nonmagnetic elastomer matrix. A single-particle mechanism of magnetostriction in MAEs, assuming the rotation of a soft magnetic, mechanically rigid particle with uniaxial magnetic anisotropy in magnetic fields is identified and considered theoretically within the framework of an alternative model. In this mechanism, the total magnetic anisotropy energy of the filling particles in the matrix is the sum over single particles.

The paper considers the influence of aging of high-temperature phase on subsequent martensitic transformation in Cu-Al-Mn alloy. The morphology of behavior of martensitic transformation as a result of alloy aging under annealing in a constant magnetic field with different sample orientation relatively to the field direction and without field was studied for direct control of the processes of martensite induction at cooling. Temperature dependences of electrical resistance, magnetic susceptibility, and magnetization, as well as field dependences of magnetization, and phase composition were found.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a chronic neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system that has no cure and leads to death. One of the most prevalent tools for AD diagnosis is magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), because of its capability to visualize brain anatomical structures. There is a variety of classification methods for automatic diagnosis of AD, such as support vector machines, genetic algorithms, Bayes classifiers, neural networks, random forests, etc.

The emergence of hypersonic technology pose a new challenge for inertial navigation sensors, widely used in aerospace industry. The main problems are: extremely high temperatures, vibration of the fuselage, penetrating acoustic radiation and shock N-waves. The nature of the additional errors of the gyroscopic inertial sensor with hydrostatic suspension components under operating conditions generated by forced precession of the movable part of the suspension due to diffraction phenomena in acoustic fields is explained.

In the era of Big Data, it is almost impossible to completely restrict access to primary non-aggregated statistical data. However, risk of violating privacy of individual respondents and groups of respondents by analyzing primary data has not been reduced. There is a need in developing subtler methods of data protection to come to grips with these challenges.

We report on new technique for determining and visualization of fluids motion in the vicinity of magnetized ferromagnetic surfaces under chemical dissolution and autocatalytic formation of spatiotemporal structures. The proposed method of obtaining data on the motion of fluids does not require the use of additional inclusions and allows to avoid the distortions caused by such inclusions or other changes in the nature of the reaction. The developed technique allows to obtain both the integral dependences and time frequencies distributions of the fluids over the volume of the medium under investigation.
