Methods: We conducted a retrospective study to compare the treatment responses to single-dose BPG combined with 7-day doxycycline versus BPG alone in PWH who presented with early syphilis.

Seasonal effects on subclinical cardiovascular functions (CVFs) are an important emerging health issue for people living in urban environment. The objectives of this study were to demonstrate the effects of seasonal variations of temperature, relative humidity, and PM air pollution on CVFs. A total of 86 office workers in Taipei City were recruited, their arterial pressure waveform was recorded by cuff sphygmomanometer using an oscillometric blood pressure (BP) device for CVFs assessment.

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) have varied prognoses and require a risk-adapted treatment strategy for treatment optimization. Recently, a molecular prognostic model (Molecular International Prognostic Scoring System [IPSS-M]) that combines clinical parameters, cytogenetic abnormalities, and mutation topography was proposed. Stripping Massage and Literature Review in Post-Thoracoscopic Chest Pain Management.

The aim of this randomized study was to investigate whether stripping massage (SM) of myofascial trigger points in the lower rhomboid muscle could alleviate chest pain in patients following thoracoscopic surgery. In addition, a literature review was conducted to assess the effectiveness of various pain management techniques. Sixty adult patients who reported a visual analog scale (VAS) score of 4 or higher were randomly assigned to receive conventional analgesics alone (conventional group) or combined with SM twice daily for 2 weeks (SM group).

Durability of serologic responses to inactivated hepatitis A virus vaccination among people living with HIV following acute hepatitis A outbreak: a 5-year follow-up study.

Serologic responses to hepatitis A virus (HAV) vaccination may wane among immunocompromised populations. To evaluate the long-term seroresponses to 2-dose HAV vaccination, we retrospectively included people living with HIV (PLWH) who had achieved seroconversion within 12 months after vaccination at a university hospital during an outbreak of acute hepatitis A between 2015 and 2017. PLWH included in the study received either Havrix or Vaqta.

The psychological and physiological effects of integrated cognitive-behavioral and biofeedback therapy on panic disorder: A randomized controlled trial.

Background: Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and biofeedback therapy are commonly regarded as effective treatment modalities for panic disorder. The aim of this study was to establish a Taiwanese version of an integrated cognitive-behavioral and biofeedback therapy (ICB) and examine its effects on panic disorder using psychological and physiological indicators.

Methods: Thirty patients with panic disorder were enrolled in this study.
