Surging environmental issues confiscate stakeholders' attention due to growing competition. Sustainable performance in this regard is viewed as a suitable tool because it not only gauges firm's financial performance but also covers social and environmental areas. However, sustainable performance cannot be achieved without creating sustainable business advantage.

The extensive consumption of fossil fuels increases CO concentration in the atmosphere, resulting in serious global warming problems. Meanwhile, the problem of water contamination by organic substances is another significant global challenge. We have successfully synthesized ZnGaTe/g-CN (ZGT/GCN) composites for the first time as effective photocatalysts for both pollutant degradation and CO reduction.

Many studies have reported that gynecologic cancer diagnosis, surgery, adjuvant therapy, and survivorship can be extremely stressful for many people during their cancer journey, and most cancer survivors have experienced stress after cancer, which impacts their quality of life. Importantly, healthy stress management will assist patients in overcoming obstacles in their lives and enhance both the quality of life and the cancer adjustment process. This study aimed to investigate the relationships between stress, coping strategies, and quality of life among gynecologic cancer survivors and to assess the mediating effects of coping on the relationship between quality of life and stress.

Cervical conjoined nerve root is rare, and medical imaging, such as magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography, cannot give an accurate preoperative diagnosis. Treatment of cervical radiculopathy with root anomaly can be challenging. We report here a case of cervical conjoined nerve root with a 2-dimensional video.

Riboflavin-5'-phosphate (FMN), an innocuous product of riboflavin (RF) phosphorylation, is vital for humans. FMN is sensitive to light illumination, as indicated by reactive oxygen species (ROS) formation. This investigation was undertaken to evaluate the influence of blue light illumination (BLI) and violet light illumination (VLI) upon FMN to develop a method to inhibit WiDr colon cancer cells by FMN photolysis.

This study aimed to understand the public reaction to the 2015 dengue outbreak in Taiwan by determining the key influencing factors. A total of 1104 respondents aged 18 years and over, were recruited by telephone between November 20 and 28, 2015, to investigate fear, risk perception, and psychological distress during the dengue outbreak. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that fear of dengue was more prevalent in the areas that were most affected, as well as those with infected friends or relatives.

The incidence of endometrial cancer has been rising in recent years. Gene mutation and high protein expression of β-catenin are commonly detected in endometrioid endometrial cancer. ICG-001 is a β-catenin inhibitor via blocking the complex formation of β-catenin and cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB)-binding protein (CBP).

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the most prevalent motor neuron disease characterized by its complex genetic structure, lacks a single diagnostic test capable of providing a conclusive diagnosis. In order to demonstrate the potential for genetic diagnosis and shed light on the pathogenic role of miRNAs in ALS, we developed an ALS diagnostic rule by training the model using 80% of a miRNA profiling dataset consisting of 253 ALS samples and 103 control samples. Subsequently, we validated the diagnostic rule using the remaining 20% of unseen samples.

Large-area craniofacial defects remain a challenge for orthopaedists, hastening the need to develop a facile and safe tissue engineering strategy; osteoconductive material and a combination of optimal growth factors and microenvironment should be considered. Faced with the unmet need, we propose that abundant cytokines and chemokines can be secreted from the bone defect, provoking the infiltration of endogenous stem cells to assist bone regeneration. We can provide a potent mRNA medicine cocktail to promptly initiate the formation of bone templates, osteogenesis, and subsequent bone matrix deposition via endochondral ossification, which may retard rapid fibroblast infiltration and prevent the formation of atrophic non-union.

On 19 April 2022, in order to overcome a succession of recent global food health and agriculture safety (FHAS) incidents, the Taiwanese government instituted and announced 20 comprehensive Articles under the Taiwanese Food and Agricultural Education Law (TFAEL) for regulating the Taiwanese FHAS in order to completely construct the international strategies under the current global food security challenges of the FAHS. As a result, this research study firstly employs the learning community model (LCM) of the learning theory to measure the implementing depth of the international sustainability practice of the 20 Articles of the Taiwanese FHASE from a learning performance analytical perspective. Then, the social learning theory (SLT) of the educational theory is applied to consolidate the individual behaviors of the relative stakeholders, the organizational management of the relative industries and the socialized consent of the multilateral organization performance assessment network (MOPAN) of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN).

Diversification of energy mix is related to the heterogeneity of contributions of energy sources in the energy consumption basket of nations. Its persistent degree reveals the efficiency of energy-related policies or shocks to diversify the contributions of energy sources in the energy mix. For the first time, the current study measures the diversification level of energy mix of the USA and its 51 states and examines its stochastic behavior to analyze its degree of persistence.

In recent years, COVID-19 has led to a blossoming of online counseling (OC) as an important and alternative way to help people in need. In this regard, the present study aims to explore and clarify therapists' practical implementation and preparation of OC in the post-pandemic era by developing scales. In total, 306 Taiwanese licensed therapists participated in this study and filled out the developed scales (75 males and 231 females, 246 of whom have provided OC to clients).

The carnivorous pitcher plants of the genus exhibit many ethnobotanical uses, including treatments of stomachache and fever. In this study, we prepared different extracts from the pitcher, stem, and leaf extracts of obtained using 100% methanol and analyzed their inhibitory effects on recombinant single-stranded DNA-binding protein (SSB) from (KpSSB). SSB is essential for DNA replication and cell survival and thus an attractive target for potential antipathogen chemotherapy.

Many countries' curriculum reforms focus on developing the next generations' competencies of self-directed learning (SDL) to address rapid social changes and sustainable environmental development. Taiwan's curriculum reform corresponds with the global trend in education. The latest curriculum reform, which proposed a 12-year basic education, was implemented in 2018 and included SDL explicitly in its guidelines.

Backgrounds: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training is generally led by instructors in a classroom; thus, conventional teaching materials used in CPR training are often constrained by spatiotemporal factors, limiting learners' interest and sense of achievement in learning and preventing them from effectively applying what they learn in practice. For greater effectiveness and more flexible application, clinical nursing education has increasingly emphasized contextualization, individualization, and interprofessional learning. This study determined the self-assessed emergency care competencies of nurses who received gamified emergency care training and explored the factors associated with those competencies.
