This study developed a dual-readout system utilizing fluorescence and colorimetry based on iron oxide quantum dots (IO-QDs) for detecting tetracycline (TCy). IO-QDs were synthesized within 6 h using L-leucine as a surface modifier, achieving a more efficient route. Upon interaction with TCy, IO-QDs exhibited a significant decrease in fluorescence response and observable color changes, while fluorescence lifetime remained consistent regardless of TCy presence.

Electronic address:

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most malignant breast cancer subtype, characterized with high aggressiveness and a high recurrence rate. Olaparib is the first US Food and Drug Administration-approved poly(ADP ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor (PARPi) to treat breast cancer patients with a germline BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation. However, resistance to Olaparib treatment restricts the therapeutic effects, and thus novel therapeutics are urgently required.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the phylogenetic relationships of East Asian species in the Rosa genus, focusing on the Synstylae section, which includes major ancestors of modern roses.
  • The researchers used eight conserved ortholog markers and genome-wide data to analyze 137 samples from 15 taxa, aiming to establish a clear phylogenetic framework and understand their evolutionary history.
  • Findings indicated that these species have diverged recently (around 2 million years ago) and that gene tree discordance suggests incomplete lineage sorting and genetic introgression among certain lineages.

Coccidiosis, caused by parasites, significantly impacts poultry farm economics and animal welfare. Beyond its direct impact on health, infection disrupts enteric microbial populations leading to dysbiosis and increases vulnerability to secondary diseases such as necrotic enteritis, caused by . The impact of infection or anticoccidial vaccination on host gastrointestinal phenotypes and enteric microbiota remains understudied.

Chronic pain is a universal public health problem with nearly one third of global human involved, which causes significant distressing personal burden. After painful stimulus, neurobiological changes occur not only in peripheral nervous system but also in central nervous system where somatosensory cortex is important for nociception. Being an ion channel, transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) act as an inflammatory detector in the brain.

This study introduces a new approach to optimizing graphene oxide (GO) properties using liquid-phase plasma treatment in a microenvironment. Our innovation exploits atomic force microscopy (AFM) cantilever frequency tracking to monitor mass variations in GO, which are indicative of surface oxidation-reduction processes or substituent doping (boron/nitrogen). Complementary in situ Raman spectroscopy has observed D/G band shifts, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) determined the C/O ratio and B/N doping levels pre- and post-treatment, confirming chemical tuning to GO.
