Brain tumor classification is a critical task in medical imaging, as accurate diagnosis directly influences treatment planning and patient outcomes. Traditional methods often fall short in achieving the required precision due to the complex and heterogeneous nature of brain tumors. In this study, we propose an innovative approach to brain tumor multi-classification by leveraging an ensemble learning method that combines advanced deep learning models with an optimal weighting strategy.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of olive leaf extract (OLE) on the quality of Cantal cheese. The cheeses were fortified with different concentrations (Control, 1, 2, and 3 %) of OLE and analysed for quality during storage. The cheeses were evaluated on days 1, 28, and 63 for physicochemical, compositional, textural, rheological parameters, colour, microbiological analysis, and antioxidant activity.

The present study examines the use of waste cooking oil (WCO) as a substrate for medium-chain-length polyhydroxyalkanoates (mcl-PHA) production by S211. The genome analysis revealed that the S211 strain has a mcl-PHA cluster () encoding two class II PHA synthases (PhaC1 and PhaC2) separated by a PHA depolymerase (PhaZ), a transcriptional activator (PhaD) and two phasin-like proteins (PhaFI). Genomic annotation also identified a gene encoding family I.

Pulmonary disease identification and characterization are among the most intriguing research topics of recent years since they require an accurate and prompt diagnosis. Although pulmonary radiography has helped in lung disease diagnosis, the interpretation of the radiographic image has always been a major concern for doctors and radiologists to reduce diagnosis errors. Due to their success in image classification and segmentation tasks, cutting-edge artificial intelligence techniques like machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) are widely encouraged to be applied in the field of diagnosing lung disorders and identifying them using medical images, particularly radiographic ones.

Due to its important role in the formation of humic acids (HA), improving lignin degradation during composting has usually been considered a challenge. One practice that could stimulate the biodegradation of this recalcitrant molecule is inoculation with exogenous lignolytic fungal strains. Two composts (C1) and (C2) from piles (H1) and (H2) were evaluated.

The aim of this study was to assess the adsorption of four non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), namely Paracetamol (PRC), Diclofenac (DIC), Ibuprofen (IBU), and Ketoprofen (KET), using both batch and continuous experiments with clay. Various analytical techniques, including XRD, FTIR, SEM coupled to EDX, and Zeta potential, were employed to characterize both raw and calcined clay. XRD and FTIR analyses confirmed the kaolinite nature of the clay.

For braking system, rubbing between disc and brake pad generates heat, physical transformation on the contact, and activates many complex solicitations. Therefore, researchers used reduced scale testing to evaluate tribological and thermomechanical performance of friction composite. The pin-on-disc configuration of the tribometer is considered the better solution to reproduce these generated transformation and friction evolution.

The layered fibers of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites exhibit low thermal conductivity (TC) throughout their thickness due to the poor TC of the polymeric resin. Improved heat transmission inside the hydrogen storage tank during the filling process can reduce further compression work, and improved heat insulation can minimize energy loss. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the thermal properties of composites.

Due to the rapid urbanization of many cities around the world, industrial manufacturing plants have been expanded quickly, leading to the discharge of large amounts of pollutants into the environment. Consequently, a significant deterioration in local air quality is recorded, representing a high health risk for the city's residents. In this context, the main objective of this work is to understand the dispersion of gas pollution in high-density urban environments, specifically the Hail region of Saudi Arabia.

Despite their economic importance worldwide, potato plants are sensitive to various abiotic constraints, such as drought and high temperatures, which cause significant losses in yields and tuber quality. Moreover, because of the climate change phenomenon, plants are frequently subjected to combined stresses, mainly high temperatures and drought. In this context, breeding for tolerant varieties should consider not only plant response to drought or high temperature but also to combined stresses.

Recent articles reported a massive increase in frustration among weak students due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). These students need to be evaluated to detect possible psychological counseling and extra attention. On the one hand, the literature reports many optimization techniques focusing on existing students' performance prediction systems.

The size and morphology of reinforcing fibres have a great influence on organic brake friction composite material properties and performance. This research aims to establish the link between friction material microstructure heterogeneity induced by rockwool fibre morphology and distribution and the resulting tribological behaviour. The adopted approach is based on simplified formulations designed to limit synergistic effects by reducing the number and size distribution of constituents.

In this paper, a new classification approach of breast cancer based on Fully Convolutional Networks (FCNs) and Beta Wavelet Autoencoder (BWAE) is presented. FCN, as a powerful image segmentation model, is used to extract the relevant information from mammography images. It will identify the relevant zones to model while WAE is used to model the extracted information for these zones.

Vanadium has been shown to catalyze the generation of reactive oxygen species. Since free radical production and lipid peroxidation are potentially important mediators in testicular physiology and pathophysiology, the present study was conducted to elucidate vanadium-induced oxidative damage in rat testis and the ameliorative role of Salvia officinalis essential oil (SEO) against the adverse effects of this heavy metal. Adult male Wistar rats were treated daily during 10 days either with ammonium metavanadate (5 mg/kg bw, intraperitoneally), SEO (15 mg/kg bw, orally) or their combination.

Microbial polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) are biodegradable and biocompatible bio-based polyesters, which are used in various applications including packaging, medical and coating materials. In this study, an extremophilic hydrocarbonoclastic bacterium, previously isolated from saline sediment in the Tunisian desert, has been investigated for PHA production. The accumulation of intracellular PHA granules in G11 was detected by Nile blue A staining of the colonies.

The lack of knowledge on the link between the manufacturing process and performance constitutes a major issue in brake lining development. The manufacturing process of organic brake friction composite materials includes several steps (mixing, preforming, hot molding and post-curing), which define their final microstructure, properties and performances. This study focuses on the effect of mixing duration on the microstructure, properties and tribological behavior of organic friction composite materials.

Background: Potato tubers from genetically modified plants overexpressing the StDREB1 or the VvWRKY2 transcription factors that exhibited improved tolerance to salt and resistance to Fusarium solani infection were characterized and evaluated for safety in a 30 day rat feeding study. Male Wistar rats were split into four groups and provided with a diet composed of 33% (w/w) of either one of the two genetically modified potatoes (GMPs), 33% of the commercial Spunta variety (Sp), or a control group fed with the basal rats' diet. Elemental analysis of olive oils by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) is challenging because of the high organic load in olive oil samples and the low analyte concentrations. However, conflicting operating procedures in the preparation of oils prior to analysis by ICP-MS have been reported to overcome these difficulties. This study compared three methods of inorganic elements' extraction from olive oils: The two commonly used microwave-assisted, acid digestion, and liquid-liquid, ultrasound-assisted extraction methods; and an optimized method: The combined microwave digestion-evaporation.
