Introduction: Alcoholic hallucinosis (AH) is one of the severe complications of chronic alcoholism, characterized by psychotic symptoms such as auditory hallucinations and delusions. Haloperidol is widely used to treat AH; however, its therapy is often complicated by side effects. A personalized approach using pharmacogenetic testing (particularly the CYP2D6 polymorphism) allows individualization of haloperidol dosage, improving both safety and efficacy of therapy.

Background: The previously underestimated effects of commensal gut microbiota on the human body are increasingly being investigated using omics. The discovery of active molecules of interaction between the microbiota and the host may be an important step towards elucidating the mechanisms of symbiosis.
Results: Here, we show that in the bloodstream of healthy people, there are over 900 peptides that are fragments of proteins from microorganisms which naturally inhabit human biotopes, including the intestinal microbiota.

Neutrophilic pulmonary inflammation in asthmatics substantially exacerbates the severity of the disease leading to resistance to conventional corticosteroid therapy. Many studies established the involvement of Th1- and Th17-cells and cytokines produced by them (IFNg, IL-17A, IL-17F etc.) in neutrophilic pulmonary inflammation.

Bronchial asthma (BA) is a heterogeneous chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract. Allergic (atopic) asthma is the most common (up to 80% of cases) phenotype developing through the Th2-dependent mechanisms involving cytokines: IL-4, IL-5, IL-9, and IL-13. The genes encoding Th2-cytokines have a mosaic structure (encode exons and introns).

Unlabelled: To date, haloperidol has been widely used to treat patients with acute alcoholic hallucinosis. There is strong evidence that haloperidol therapy is commonly associated with adverse drug reactions (ADRs). The 392A > polymorphism of the * gene (rs2740574) is known to affect the metabolism rates of haloperidol; hence it correlates with both therapy efficacy and safety parameters.

Unlabelled: Haloperidol is currently used in addictology for the treatment of acute psychotic disorders, including acute alcoholic hallucinosis. The use of haloperidol is often accompanied by the occurrence of adverse drug reactions (ADRs). There is evidence that CYP2D6 isoenzyme is involved in the biotransformation of haloperidol.

Using a model of systemic anaphylaxis in mice, we showed that preventive administration of a preparation containing technologically processed antibodies (TPA) to MHC II induces an anti-anaphylactic effect comparable to that of dexamethasone (when assessing the severity of systemic anaphylaxis 30 and 60 min after challenge injection of the model antigen ovalbumin). The revealed activity may be related to the ability of TPA to MHC II to regulate the antigen presentation system and shift the immune response towards the production of IgG instead of IgE typical of anaphylactic reaction.

Bronchial asthma (BA) is a heterogeneous chronic inflammatory disease of the airways. The majority of patients with mild to moderate BA develop Th2-biased eosinophilic pulmonary inflammation and respond well to corticosteroid treatment. However up to 10% of BA patients develop severe pathology, which is associated with neutrophilic inflammation and resistant to conventional corticosteroid therapy.

Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) are widespread in the environment and can cause various diseases in humans, especially immunocompromised patients. Treatment of diseases caused by NTM is a complicated issue, mainly due to the resistance of the pathogen to most antimicrobial agents. Bedaquiline (Bdq) is now widely used for the treatment of multidrug-resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) tuberculosis (TB).
