Unlabelled: Realising the benefits of systematic secondary fracture prevention requires supporting local sites to get started and becoming effective. We here describe the development, implementation and impact of a regional fracture liaison service (FLS) mentorship programme in Latin America that led to 64 FLS getting started and coverage of 17,205 patients.
Introduction: Despite treatments and service models to deliver effective secondary fracture prevention, most patients are left untreated after a fragility fracture.

Background: Wheelchairs are vital for the successful rehabilitation and inclusion of people with mobility disabilities; 10% of the population with disabilities needs a wheelchair, but only 15% have access to an adequate one. Not user-configured wheelchairs may lead to postural deformities and pressure ulcers, thus negatively impact user satisfaction, wheelchair skills, and quality of life.
Objective: To assess the impact of the 8-step "Guidelines on the provision of manual wheelchairs in less-resourced settings" from the World Health Organization (WHO) on user satisfaction, wheelchair skills, and quality of life of Mexican manual wheelchair users.

In 2011, a syndrome entitled ASIA (Autoimmune/inflammatory Syndrome Induced by Adjuvants; Shoenfeld's syndrome) was first described. ASIA aimed to organize under a single umbrella, the existing evidence regarding certain environmental factors which possess immune stimulatory properties, in order to shed light on a common pathway of autoimmune pathogenesis. Such environmental immune stimulators, or adjuvants, include among others: aluminum salts as in vaccines, various medical implants, as well as various infectious agents.

Literature searches are important components of systematic reviews. They are not only informative of the retrieval process, but they also set the data to be analyzed and influence additional components of systematic reviews. Despite the available guidelines, several studies have shown that the quality of reporting in systematic reviews is deficient in several medical fields.

This paper presents an upper limb exoskeleton that allows cognitive (through electromyography signals) and physical user interaction (through load cells sensors) for passive and active exercises that can activate neuroplasticity in the rehabilitation process of people who suffer from a neurological injury. For the exoskeleton to be easily accepted by patients who suffer from a neurological injury, we used the ISO9241-210:2010 as a methodology design process. As the first steps of the design process, design requirements were collected from previous usability tests and literature.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is one of the leading causes of death in younger adults, but advances in diagnosis and management during recent years may have reduced mortality. We examined whether SLE is a leading cause of death in Mexico among females. Data for death counts for the female population were obtained from the General Board of Health Information (DGIS) Open Access datasets, which evaluate death certificates, from 2000 to 2020.

To date, around 60% of the world population has been protected by vaccines against SARS-CoV-2, significantly reducing the devastating effect of the pandemic and restoring social economic activity through mass vaccination. Multiple studies have demonstrated the effectiveness and safety of vaccines against COVID-19 in healthy populations, in people with risk factors, in people with or without SARS-CoV-2 infection, and in immunocompromised people. According to the criteria for post-vaccine adverse events established by the World Health Organization, a minority of individuals may develop adverse events, including autoimmune syndromes.

L-kynurenine (L-KYN) is an endogenous metabolite, that has been used as a neuroprotective strategy in experimental models. The protective effects of L-KYN have been attributed mainly to kynurenic acid (KYNA). However, considering that L-KYN is prone to oxidation, this redox property may play a substantial role in its protective effects.

Giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) is a primary bone tumor that affects skeletally mature people and whose main treatment is surgical. Because there are few pharmacological alternatives for the treatment of this tumor to find other molecules or compounds that could be potential therapeutic agents is desirable. Quercetin is a flavonoid with described antitumoral effect in different types of cancer cell lines that could be a possible option in GCTB treatment.
