Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) have improved survival across tumor types however they cause immune-related toxicities through removal of the inhibition of auto-reactive T cells. In this case review, we present 4 patients with metastatic cancer who developed de-novo neuromuscular side effects of myositis with overlapping seropositive myasthenia gravis after ICI treatment. Declaration: This study was performed in accordance to the ethical standards set by the SingHealth Institutional Review Board, with consent taken from living patients and waiver of consent from deceased patients (CIRB Ref 2019/2485).

Department of Basic and Clinical Neuroscience, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King's College London, De Crespigny Park, London, SE5 8AF, UK.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second commonest neurodegenerative disorder in the world with a rising prevalence. The pathophysiology is multifactorial but aggregation of misfolded α-synuclein is considered to be a key underpinning mechanism. Amyloid-β (Aβ) and tau deposition are also comorbid associations and especially Aβ deposition is associated with cognitive decline in PD.

Neurologic complications have long been associated with influenza. A novel strain of influenza A (H1N1) first described in humans to have outbreak potential in 2009 in Mexico went on to become the first influenza pandemic of this century. We evaluated the neurologic complications of the novel influenza A (H1N1) 2009 in children and adults admitted to all public hospitals in Singapore during the influenza A (H1N1) 2009 pandemic between May 2009 and March 2010.

J Stroke Cerebrovasc Dis

April 2015

Department of Pharmacology, National University of Singapore, Clinical Research Centre, Singapore. Electronic address:

Background: Stroke trials often analyze patients with heterogeneous prognoses using a single definition of outcome, which may not be applicable to all subgroups. We aimed to evaluate the treatment effects of MCL601 among patients stratified by prognosis in the Chinese Medicine Neuroaid Efficacy on Stroke Recovery (CHIMES) study.

Methods: Analyses were performed using data from the CHIMES study, an international, randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind trial comparing MLC601 with placebo in patients with ischemic stroke of intermediate severity in the preceding 72 hours.

Department of Neurology, National Neuroscience Institute (Singapore General Hospital campus), Outram Road, Singapore 169608.

Treating patients with gliomas requires a multidisciplinary approach, which often includes surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Recent developments have demonstrated the efficacy of chemotherapeutic agents in patients with newly diagnosed or recurrent gliomas. Large clinical studies have provided important information on the impact of chemotherapy for anaplastic oligodendrogliomas in the upfront setting.
