Introduction: Intracranial large artery disease (ICLAD) is a common cause of ischaemic stroke and is associated with the risk of recurrent vascular events in the short term. We compared the incidence of various long-term vascular outcomes between ischaemic stroke patients with and without ICLAD.
Methods: This was a longitudinal observational study of acute ischaemic stroke patients who were followed up serially for recurrent stroke, myocardial infarction or vascular death up to a median of 86 months.

Introduction: Conus medullaris infarction (CMI) is a rare vascular phenomenon that has been scarcely reported in the literature. While previous studies have described the clinical and radiological features of CMI, little attention has been paid to its associated neurophysiological findings.
Methods: We present a case of idiopathic CMI and its neurophysiological findings, then present our findings from a systematic review of other reports of CMI with neurophysiological features found via PubMed search.

Introduction: Post stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is a common complication of ischemic stroke. PSCI can involve different depending on clinical and stroke related characteristics. The aim of this study is to determine the factors associated with impairments in specific cognitive domains.

The comparability of endovascular coiling over neurosurgical clipping has not been firmly established in elderly patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (aSAH). Data were obtained from all patients with aSAH aged ≥60 across three tertiary hospitals in Singapore from 2014 to 2019. Outcome measures included modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score at 3 and at 6 months, and in-hospital mortality.

Background And Aims: Stroke is the second leading cause of death and third leading cause of disability worldwide. There is an increasing incidence of stroke among the young. In this study, we aimed to identify factors associated with poor long-term prognosis in young stroke patients.

Our patient is a middle-aged woman with a 20-year history of migranous-sounding headaches who was incidentally found to have worsening vision in her left eye during a routine driving test visual acuity check. Neurological examination revealed a left grade III relative afferent pupillary defect and a central scotoma with red desaturation.

Background: Lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy, also known as amyotrophy, is an uncommon monophasic disorder characterized by inflammation of the lumbosacral nerve roots and plexuses. Lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy is usually associated with diabetes mellitus, is typically painful at presentation, and often associated with long-term residual neurologic deficits. We report a case of painless, nondiabetic lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy in a young Chinese woman, who made a full recovery after treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin, adding an atypical case to the scarce literature on lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy.

Introduction: Patients with cancer are known to have an increased risk of ischemic stroke (IS) around the time of their diagnosis. However, there is a paucity of data in Asian populations, and as such, we aimed to determine cancer incidence rates and patterns in Asian IS patients as well as investigate the differences in vascular risk profile of IS patients with and without concomitant cancer.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cross-sectional study using data from the Singapore Stroke and Cancer registries.

We describe the first case of anti-CV2 paraneoplastic polyneuropathy associated with lung adenocarcinoma. Our patient presented with progressive unsteadiness and numbness involving bilateral upper and lower limbs. He had symmetrical length-dependent lower motor neuron pattern of weakness and numbness involving both small and large fibres with prominent sensory ataxia.

Background: In pre-vaccinated people with multiple sclerosis (MS), certain disease-modifying therapies (DMTs), particularly the anti-CD20 treatments, appear to be associated with an increased risk of COVID-19 infection and indeed with severe infection. It is still not known if such observations extend to vaccinated individuals and there have been considerably fewer studies in aquaporin-4-antibody neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (AQP4-NMOSD) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein-antibody associated disease (MOGAD) patients. In this study, we investigated the rates of symptomatic COVID-19 infection in adult patients with MS, AQP4-NMOSD and MOGAD who had received 2 doses of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine.

Background And Purpose: A third of stroke patients suffer from post-stroke cognitive decline, depressive symptoms, and anxiety symptoms. B-vitamin supplementation provides a possible safe and affordable treatment to mitigate post-stroke neuropsychiatric sequelae via reducing homocysteine levels. Our study aims to examine the effect of B-vitamin supplementation in the prevention of post-stroke cognitive decline, depressive symptoms, and anxiety symptoms.

Purpose: We describe the spectrum of acute neurological disorders among hospitalized patients who recently had COVID-19 mRNA vaccination.
Method: We performed a prospective study at 7 acute hospitals in Singapore. Hospitalized patients who were referred for neurological complaints and had COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273, in the last 6 weeks were classified into central nervous system (CNS) syndromes, cerebrovascular disorders, peripheral nervous system (PNS) disorders, autonomic nervous system (ANS) disorders and immunization stress-related responses (ISRR).

This study investigated the effectiveness of a psycho-behavioural intervention (PBI) for freezing of gait (FOG) management in people with Parkinson's disease, through a double-blind randomized controlled pilot trial conducted with nineteen participants. Though no significant between-group differences were found, PBI was feasible, well-tolerated by participants, and exhibited a trend towards improvement for FOG and depression, thereby warranting further longitudinal investigations.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between medication adherence, trust in physician and beliefs about medication among stroke survivors. To determine whether beliefs about medication would mediate the relationship between trust in physician and medication adherence.
Methods: A sample of 200 patients with a diagnosis of ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) completed a one-time survey, including the shortened Medication Adherence Report Scale (MARS-5), Beliefs about Medicines Questionnaire (BMQ), and Trust in Physician Scale (TIPS).

Cerebrovascular manifestations of radiotherapy for head and neck cancers are well described. In Southeast Asia, because nasopharyngeal cancer is common, patients with late cerebrovascular consequences are encountered regularly. This case report describes the long-term follow-up of a Chinese male patient with symptomatic severe radiation-associated atherosclerosis, who had carotid artery angioplasty and stenting performed, and the subsequent complications encountered: cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome, baroreflex failure, and progressive carotid artery stenosis.

Topic: Visual impairment (VI) and cognitive impairment (CIM) are prevalent age-related conditions that impose substantial burden on the society. Findings on the hypothesized bidirectional association of VI and CIM remains equivocal. Hence, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to examine this bidirectional relationship.

Aims: We aimed to study factors associated with adherence to medications and lifestyle modifications amongst ischaemic stroke and transient ischaemic attack (TIA) patients.
Methods: In a prospective cohort study, we surveyed 200 outpatients attending stroke clinic at a Singaporean tertiary hospital.
