The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic recommendations led to a shift in the management of patients with pituitary diseases, especially in the decision-making between conservative and surgical treatment of patients with PA.
Objective: This study aimed to describe the conservative and surgical treatment and the clinical, visual, and endocrinological outcomes in patients with PA at the Pituitary Center of Excellence (PTCEO) during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and within three years.

Monotherapy is the recommended initial treatment for early Parkinson's disease. The pharmacological options for initial treatment include dopaminergic agonists, monoamine oxidase B inhibitors, and levodopa formulations. Several factors should be considered when selecting the optimal treatment, such as disease severity, disease duration, age, activity level, and the risk of developing motor and non-motor complications.

Unlabelled: Lead exposure is a severe public health issue that can adversely affect children's neurocognitive development. A semi-urban community in Mexico has been exposed to lead from food cooked in glazed clay pots. A cognitive intervention was conducted from 2015 to 2016 to minimize this negative impact.

Transsylvian approach is one of the main approaches for a variety of vascular, tumor, and skull-base lesions. Sylvian fissure harbors a lot of critical structures including the middle cerebral artery and many venous structures. If not done properly, the transsylvian approach could cause several complications.

Alterations in the composition of the gut microbiota may be causally associated with several brain diseases. Indole-3-propionic acid (IPrA) is a tryptophan-derived metabolite, which is produced by intestinal commensal microbes, rapidly enters the circulation, and crosses the blood-brain barrier. IPrA has neuroprotective properties, which have been attributed to its antioxidant and bioenergetic effects.

Intracranial "kissing" aneurysms are rare vascular conditions described as two anatomically adjacent aneurysms originating from either the same or different arteries, with their walls pressed together. Two-dimensional angiography was formerly considered the gold standard for diagnosis, with the three-dimensional rotational type now offering more insightful details about vascular discrepancies. The treatment of anterior communicating artery (AcoA) "kissing" aneurysms poses significant challenges, with surgical clipping proving difficult due to their deep midline location or the bilateral anterograde arterial supply.

Metronidazole (MTZ) is the most common drug used against () infections; however, treatment failures and high rates of recurrence of trichomoniasis have been reported, suggesting the presence of resistance in to MTZ. Therefore, research into new therapeutic options against infections has become increasingly urgent. This study investigated the trichomonacidal activity of a series of five imidazole carbamate compounds (AGR-1, AGR-2, AGR-3, AGR-4, and AGR-5) through in vitro susceptibility assays to determine the IC value of each compound.

This retrospective mono-center study focuses on 144 cases of glioblastoma treated over a time span of 12 years in our clinic in Romania. We offer critical insight into the dreadful aspect of this tumor by highlighting the principal characteristics such as localization, the genetic information of each case, progression-free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS). A tenth of our patients underwent a second surgical procedure, providing a comparable OS to the other part of our study group, proving that surgical treatment as salvage therapy is a viable option.

The vein of Rolando, also known as the central sulcal vein, is a critical superficial cerebral vein located in the central sulcus, playing a pivotal role in the venous drainage of the motor and sensory cortices. Named after the Italian anatomist Luigi Rolando, this vein serves as a crucial anatomical landmark in neurosurgery, guiding surgeons to approach critical brain structures with minimal damage. This article explores the anatomy and clinical significance of the vein of Rolando, emphasizing its role in neurosurgery and neuroimaging.

Levosimendan is a medication with a range of pharmacological effects, making it appropriate for use in several clinical settings, including advanced heart failure with pulmonary hypertension, cardiogenic shock, and acute heart failure. This case report details the perioperative management of a male in their 40s with a complex medical history, including primary hypoparathyroidism, cirrhosis, and severe pulmonary hypertension, who underwent urgent cadaveric donor liver transplantation. Information available on the perioperative use of levosimendan is still insufficient to be able to regulate behaviors that can guide its management on a regular basis.

Objective: We aimed to conduct an umbrella review to summarize the existing evidence regarding the prevalence of peri-ictal psychiatric manifestations (PM) in people with epilepsy (PWE) including pre-ictal, ictal, and postictal stages.
Methods: Databases were searched up to June 2023 for systematic reviews (SR) of observational studies that included patients with epilepsy peri-ictal PM. Data selection, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment (with the AMSTAR-2 instrument) were performed by two independent reviewers.

Corpus callosotomy is a therapeutic approach for drug-resistant epilepsy, with positive outcomes observed in managing atonic seizures. Despite a decline in its usage, radiosurgical callosotomy remains a viable option for drug-resistant epilepsy due to its low risks of post-radiation neoplasia, albeit not with exceptions. Brain radionecrosis is characterized by tissue death and vascular endothelial damage following the procedure.

Globally, there is growing concern over the presence of lead (Pb) in foods because it is a heavy metal with several toxic effects on human health. However, monitoring studies have not been conducted in Mexico. In this study, we estimated the concentrations of Pb in the most consumed foods and identified those that exceeded the maximum limits (MLs) for Pb in foods established by the International Standards.
