Characterization of a productive oil/gas well blowout through seismological methods is relatively uncommon. In this paper, we conduct an in-depth seismic evaluation of one of the world's most significant onshore oil well blowout incidents, which occurred in 2020 at the Baghjan oil field in Assam, northeast India. We show that the blowout and related on-site activities generated distinct signals that can be distinguished by their spectral characteristics, temporal variation in geometric spreading, and sharp attenuation of daytime noise in comparison to the nighttime.

Recycling of waste plastics and agro-industrial waste for the development of sustainable polymeric composites is recognized as a viable approach to overcome the detrimental environmental effects of plastics waste. Despite of immense potential of sustainable composites in the Circular Economy (CE), its implementation is still insignificant due to the lack of an effective material selection approach. The existence of several influencing aspects in the process of material selection considers it a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) problem.

We designed a tris-catecholate-based siderophore mimic, H-T-CATL, to selectively chelate iron(III) from mitochondrial cytochromes and other iron-containing proteins within cellular matrices. This strategic sequestration aims to trigger apoptosis or ferroptosis in cancer cells through the glutathione (GSH)-dependent release of reduced iron and subsequent ROS-mediated cytotoxicity. Synthesis of H-T-CATL involved precise peptide coupling reactions.

The anticancer efficacy of doxorubicin, an anthracycline-based and FDA-approved chemotherapeutic drug, is significantly hindered by acquired chemoresistance and severe side effects despite its potent anticancer properties. To overcome these challenges, we developed an innovative therapeutic formulation that integrates targeted chemotherapy and phototherapy within a single platform using gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). This novel nanoconjugate, designated as Dox-Fe@FA-AuNPs, is co-functionalized with folic acid, doxorubicin, and an iron(III)-phenolate/carboxylate complex, enabling cancer-specific drug activation.

This paper introduces a new metaheuristic technique known as the Greater Cane Rat Algorithm (GCRA) for addressing optimization problems. The optimization process of GCRA is inspired by the intelligent foraging behaviors of greater cane rats during and off mating season. Being highly nocturnal, they are intelligible enough to leave trails as they forage through reeds and grass.
