We explore the physical influence of magnetic field on double-diffusive convection in complex biomimetic (peristaltic) propulsion of nanofluid through a two-dimensional divergent channel. Additionally, porosity effects along with rheological properties of the fluid are also retained in the analysis. The mathematical model is developed by equations of continuity, momentum, energy, and mass concentration.

Three 1D coordination polymers (CPs) [M(pdca)(HO)] (M = Zn, Cd, and Co; ), and a 3D coordination framework {[(CH)NH][CuK(2,3-pdca)(pa)(NO)]} () (2,3-pdca = pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylate and pa = picolinic acid), have been synthesized adopting a solvothermal reaction strategy. The CPs have been thoroughly characterized using various spectral techniques, that is, elemental analyses, FT-IR, TGA, DSC, UV/vis, and luminescence. Structural information on was obtained by PXRD and X-ray single-crystal analyses, whereas morphological insights were attained through FESEM, AFM, EDX, HRTEM, and BET surface area analyses.

In recent times, demand for light weight and high strength materials fabricated from natural fibres has increased tremendously. The use of natural fibres has rapidly increased due to their high availability, low density, and renewable capability over synthetic fibre. Natural leaf fibres are easy to extract from the plant (retting process is easy), which offers high stiffness, less energy consumption, less health risk, environment friendly, and better insulation property than the synthetic fibre-based composite.

An attempt was made in this work to evaluate a simple flat sheet supported liquid membrane technique for the separation of carrier free Y from Sr using two diglycolamide carrier ligands, (i) N,N,N',N'-tetra-n-octyl-diglycolamide (TODGA), and (ii) N,N,N',N'-tetra-(2-ethylhexyl)-diglycolamide (TEHDGA). Various experimental parameters were optimized to get selective transport of Y over Sr. At 6 M HNO feed acidity, >95% Y could be recovered selectively in just 4 h with both the ligands.

Background And Objective: The automatic detection and counting of white blood cells (WBCs) play a vital role in the diagnosis of hematological diseases. Computer-aided methods are prevalent in the detection of WBCs because the manual process involves several complexities. In this article, a complete automatic detection algorithm to recognize the WBCs embedded in cluttered and complicated smear images of blood is designed.

In this study, experiments are performed to study the physical and mechanical behaviour of chemically-treated sugarcane bagasse fibre-reinforced epoxy composite. The effect of alkali treatment, fibre varieties, and fibre lengths on physical and mechanical properties of the composites is studied. To study the morphology of the fractured composites, scanning electron microscopy is performed over fractured composite surfaces.

A thermal analysis of Cu-CuO/ blood nanofluids flow in asymmetric microchannel propagating with wave velocity is presented in this study. For the blood, a micropolar fluid model is considered to investigate the microrotation effects of blood flow. Thermal radiation effects and the influence of nanoparticle shape, electric double layer thickness, and electromagnetic fields on the flow are studied.

Pumping devices with the electrokinetics phenomena are important in many microscale transport phenomena in physiology. This study presents a theoretical and numerical investigation on the peristaltic pumping of non-Newtonian Sutterby nanofluid through capillary in presence of electromagnetohydrodynamics. Here blood (Sutterby fluid) is taken as a base fluid and nanofluid is prepared by the suspension of graphene oxide nanoparticle in blood.

Mechanical loading-induced fluid flow in lacunar-canalicular space (LCS) of bone excites osteocyte cells to release signalling molecules which initiate osteo-activities. Theoretical models considered canaliculi as a uniform and symmetrical space/channel in bone. However, experimental studies reported that canalicular walls are irregular and curvy resulting in inhomogeneous fluid motion which may influence the molecular transport.

The fluorescence chemosensing behavior of Zn(ii), Cu(ii), and Cd(ii) based complexes toward cations has been described. Cation detection via conventional mechanisms, metal-metal exchange and chemodosimetric approaches along with the importance of metal ions and the scope, significance, and challenges with regard to the detection of cations by metal complex based probes will be discussed in detail. The fundamentals of photophysical behavior and mechanisms involved in the fluorescence detection of analytes will also be described.

Increasing environmental concern, human health and the continuous upgradation in the stringent standards of vehicular emissions have shown much interest in cleaner diesel fuels. Out of various strategies to mitigate the diesel engine emissions, use of water blended diesel in the form of emulsion has grabbed sufficient attention of the fuel research community. Various researches have shown that water-emulsified diesel has sufficient potential to improve the engine performance simultaneously with a significant reduction in the levels of nitrogen oxides (NO) and particulate matter (PM) emissions.
