In this paper, a multichannel FIR filter design based on the Time Division Multiplex (TDM) approach that incorporates one multiply and add unit, regardless of the variable coefficient length and varying channels, by associating the resource sharing doctrine is suggested. A multiplier based on approximate distributed arithmetic (DA) circuits is employed for effective resource optimization. Although no explicit multiplication was conducted in this realization, the radix-8 and radix-4 Booth algorithms are utilized in the DA framework to curtail and optimize the partial products (PPs).

The coherent perfect absorption (CPA) occurring in the graphene sheet suspended in air can be utilized to develop an ultrathin, ultra-broadband absorber working in the frequency range from a few hertz (Hz) to terahertz (THz) with perfect absorption. A graphene sheet is studied to induce the CPA to cover radio, microwave and lower THz frequency ranges. A graphene resonator able to provide the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is combined with the graphene sheet to provide CPA at either side of a thin dielectric layer forms metamaterial structure with the cavity and enhances the absorption bandwidth in the THz region by creating a resonance near quasi-CPA frequency.

In this work, we analyze the design of a graphene- and germanium-based plasmonic sensor with photonic spin Hall effect (PSHE) for detection of refractive index (RI) of a gas medium and magnetic field (B) applied to the graphene monolayer in THz frequency region. The PSHE phenomenon is studied in both conventional as well as modified weak measurements. The effect of gaseous medium thickness (d), transverse magnetic (TM) mode's order, and amplified angle parameter (Δ) is studied on the sensor's performance.

The rate of Biomedical waste generation increases exponentially during infectious diseases, such as the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which burst in December 2019 and spread worldwide in a very short time, causing over 6 M casualties worldwide till May 2022. As per the WHO guidelines, the facemask has been used by every person to prevent the infection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and discarded as biomedical waste. In the present work, a 3-ply facemask was chosen to be treated using the solvent, which was extracted from the different types of waste plastics through the thermal-catalytic pyrolysis process using a novel catalyst.

Triclosan (TC) is one of the threats to the environment due to its bioaccumulative nature, persistency, combined toxicity in aquatic biota, and endocrine-disrupting nature. This study revealed the removal of TC via three distinct setups of vertical flow constructed wetlands (VFCW: B-VFCW (with biochar); PB-VFCW (with plant Colocasia and biochar); C-VFCW (without biochar but with plant)) operated with normal flow and tidal-flow (flooding/drying cycles of 72 h/24 h: B-TFCW; PB-TFCW; C-TFCW) mode for 216 h of the operation cycle. The effluent was analyzed for changes in TC load and wastewater parameters (COD, NO-N, NH-N, and DO).

The use of low-cost substances such as biochar could be a sustainable approach to reduce the mobility, accumulation, and toxic impact of heavy metals in crop systems. This study investigates the effect of biochar amendment on heavy metal (Cr, Cd, Cu, Pb, Ni, Zn, Mg and Fe) mobility, bioaccumulation factor (BAF), plant (wheat) metal-uptake, plant oxidative stress, and soil enzymatic profile in contaminated industrial soil. Biochar was obtained from slow pyrolysis of Lantana (LBC), and Parthenium (PBC) biomass, and applied at 3% rates in contaminated soils for wheat crop study under a greenhouse experimental setup.

Pharmaceuticals (PCs) residues are considered an emerging threat to the environment due to their persistency, ecotoxicity and bioaccumulative nature. To study the PC (amoxicillin, AMX; caffeine, CF; ibuprofen, IBU) removal efficiency of vertical flow constructed wetland (VFCW), three setups of VFCWs were configured: SB (substrate matrix + biochar (BC)); SBP (substrate matrix + BC + plant); SP (substrate matrix + plant) and changes in effluent PC load was estimated at 24, 48, 72, 96, 120, 144 and 168 h intervals. SBP with an influent load of 1,000 μg L showed the maximum removals of 75.

A novel coronavirus has resulted in an outbreak of viral pneumonia in China. Person-to-person transmission has been demonstrated, but, to our knowledge, the spreading of novel coronavirus takes place due to an asymptomatic carrier. Most models are not considering testing and underlying network topology that shows the spreading pattern.
