The application of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN) as a drug carrier system got immense attention in the past few years due to their exceptional high drug loading efficiency. However, the process of drug loading is quite challenging compared to other lipid-based drug delivery systems. Hence, the MSNs using different catalysts were synthesized, and their mesoporous material characteristic was confirmed by the type IV adsorption-desorption isotherm using BET analyzer.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), a fast-emerging global burden, is an umbrella term for several liver manifestations that result in excessive accumulation of fat in the liver. NAFLD leads to gut microbiome dysbiosis, loss in gut epithelia, increased gut permeability, etc. The limited availability of registered drugs for NAFLD highlights the urgent need to focus on understanding its pathogenesis and discovering new treatments, including the potential exploration of herbal therapies for managing the condition.

Nephropathy is the microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus and is the leading cause of chronic kidney disease. This review discusses the implications of receptor-interacting protein kinase (RIPK) family members and their regulation of inflammation and cell death pathways in the initiation and progression of diabetic kidney disease. Hyperglycemia leads to reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and RIPK1 overexpression, the first regulator of necroptosis.

Background: Anti-cancer drugs, particularly platinum-based chemotherapy drugs, have been showing ocular adverse events (OAEs) in patients undergoing chemotherapy, which is concerning due to the potential impact on patient's quality of life and the ability to continue effective cancer treatment.
Research Design And Methods: A retrospective case/non-case study was conducted using spontaneous reports on OAEs by platins from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database. A disproportionality analysis was performed by calculating the Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR), Reporting Odds Ratio (ROR), and the Information Component (IC) to identify OAE signals for platinum-based chemotherapy drugs.

Purpose: Owing to the absence of the most recent evidence on the efficacy and safety of luseogliflozin, our study aimed to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of luseogliflozin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Methods: A comprehensive search of electronic databases like PubMed, Cochrane CENTRAL, and Google Scholar was performed from the inception to the 31 of August 2023 to identify the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that examined the glucose and body weight lowering efficacy and safety outcomes of luseogliflozin in comparison with control or other active treatments. The fixed or random-effect model was used based on the heterogeneity identified using the I statistic and Cochran's Q test.

The presence of -nitroso compounds, particularly -nitrosamines, in pharmaceutical products has raised global safety concerns due to their significant genotoxic and mutagenic effects. This systematic review investigates their toxicity in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), drug products, and pharmaceutical excipients, along with novel analytical strategies for detection, root cause analysis, reformulation strategies, and regulatory guidelines for nitrosamines. This review emphasizes the molecular toxicity of -nitroso compounds, focusing on genotoxic, mutagenic, carcinogenic, and other physiological effects.

In conventional chemotherapy, the cancer cells can become highly resilient due to a phenomenon known as multi-drug resistance (MDR). The co-delivery of chemotherapeutic agents assisted with novel nanocarrier-based targeted DDS may counter the MDR issues and subsequently improve their therapeutic efficacy. In line with this, the present work deals with the development of 1D graphene oxide nanoscrolls (GONS)-based nano delivery system for co-delivery of chemosensitizer along with the chemotherapeutic agent.

The tunable properties of stimuli-responsive copolymers or hydrogels enable their application in different fields such as biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, or even drug release. Here we introduce a new PNIPAM-based triblock copolymer material comprising a controlled amount of a novel hydrophobic crosslinker 2,4'-diacryloyloxy benzophenone (DABP) and acrylic acid (AAc) to achieve lower critical solution temperature (LCST) between ambient and body temperatures. The dual stimuli-responsive p(NIPAM--DABP--AAc) triblock copolymer material and hydrogel were synthesized, and their temperature and pH-responsive behaviors were systematically investigated.
