Photobiomodulation (PBM) is beneficial to biological tissues; depending on the optical dose that is absorbed by tissues, it can function as a biostimulative, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory mediator. Thus, the current research aimed to assess the impacts of PBM and Calcium aluminosilicate-based material on direct pulp capping (DPC) of dogs' permanent teeth through histological analysis. To study DPC of dogs' teeth, we separated 24 canines and premolars obtained from mature, healthy mongrel dogs into four equal groups: group 1, which served as the control (exposed pulp was covered with a sterile polytetrafluoroethylene, Teflon tape); group 2, which received PBM treatment using a 980 nm diode laser with a 100 mw output power for one minute; group 3: Calcium aluminosilicate-based material; group 4: Calcium aluminosilicate+PBM.

The present study involved the preparation of a nano-polymer based on shrimp wastes as a biodegradable chitosan nanoparticle (Cs) incorporated into titanium oxide nanoparticles (TiO) in an aqueous medium and carried on the specific polymer to form thin films. The spectroscopic properties of chitosan/TiO/Polymer thin films were estimated by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The fabricated films were then examined for their potential to eliminate iron (Fe) and chromium (Cr) from solutions.

Heterostructures of magnetite (FeO) nanoparticles and reduced graphene oxide (RGO) sheets are very common composite materials for different applications such as catalysis, energy storage, and biomedicine. Developing methods for the facile control of the size and shape of both freestanding FeO nanoparticles and those anchored onto RGO sheets is in demand. Herein, we report on the rapid and facile microwave synthesis (MWS) of FeO nanoparticles and FeO/RGO with various sizes and shapes using the oleylamine (OAm)/oleic acid (OAc) ligand pair.

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease due to bacterial origin; it has a chronic course and progresses by immunosuppressive therapy. However, adjuvant therapies such as photobiomodulation (PBM) and melatonin can reduce the severity of the inflammation and inhibit the progression of periodontitis. Therefore, the present study evaluated the effects of PBM (PBM) and melatonin, as adjuvant therapies, on periodontal healing in immunosuppressed rats with periodontitis.

Recently, gold nanoparticles (Au Nps) have gained tremendous attention for its unique properties as a safe nanocarrier for delivering drugs that are used in different disease diagnoses. Although silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) have been generally applied due to their strong antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antimicrobial properties, their toxicity is a subject of sustained debate, thus requiring further studies. The present study aims to evaluate the potential protective effect of gold nanoparticles and phthalocyanine-gold nanoconjugates (Pc-Au NCs) against the hepatorenal toxicity of silver nanoparticles in male rats.

Cancer is a deadly illness with a convoluted pathogenesis. The most prevalent restrictions that frequently result in treatment failure for cancer chemotherapy include lack of selectivity, cytotoxicity, and multidrug resistance. Thus, considerable efforts have been focused in recent years on the establishment of a modernistic sector termed nano-oncology, which offers the option of employing nanoparticles (NPs) with the objective of detecting, targeting, and treating malignant disorders.

Background: Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a serious global health concern, with an increased incidence and risk of developing cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Patients chronically infected with HBV are likely to experience chronic oxidative stress, leading to mitochondrial dysfunction. Photobiomodulation is induced by the absorption of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) with a red or infrared laser by cytochrome C oxidase enzyme, resulting in mitochondrial photoactivation.

An important industrial process that often occurs on the surface of a heterogeneous catalyst using thermochemical or photochemical could help in the oxidation of methanol-based wastewater to formaldehyde. Titania-based photocatalysts have drawn a lot of interest from scientists because they are a reliable and affordable catalyst material for photocatalytic oxidation processes in the presence of light energy. In this study, a straight-forward hydrothermal method for producing n-TiO@α-FeO composite photocatalysts and hematite (α-FeO) nanocubes has been done.
