Background: Although previous studies have reported general inexperience with the Epley manoeuvre (EM) among general physicians, no report has evaluated the effect of EM on benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) in primary care by using point estimates or certainty of evidence. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis and clarified the efficacy of EM for BPPV, regardless of primary-care and subspecialty settings.
Methods: Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised sham-controlled trials of EM for the treatment of posterior canal BPPV in primary-care and subspecialty settings.

Introduction: Combined treatment using anti-programmed death-ligand 1 antibody (anti-PD-L1) and platinum-etoposide is the current standard first-line treatment for patients with extensive-stage (ES) small cell lung cancer (SCLC). However, the best treatment for relapsed ES-SCLC after the first-line treatment remains unclear. There are some approved chemotherapeutic agents that can be used against ES-SCLC, and treatment with irinotecan is well established as both a monotherapy and a combined therapy, in combination with platinum.

Background: Newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) often require infusion therapy immediately after admission. In such cases, the catheter must be selected according to the condition of the neonate. The aim of this study was to compare the performance of a peripheral venous catheter (PVC) in terms of dwell time, number of catheter replacements required, and complication rate with that of a midline catheter (MC) in neonates weighing ≥1500 g and requiring care in a NICU.

Objective: Perampanel is an oral anti-seizure medication, which is approved in Japan for focal-onset seizures, with/without focal to bilateral tonic-clonic seizures, as monotherapy/adjunctive therapy in patients aged 4 years and older. Treatment for generalized tonic-clonic seizures as adjunctive therapy in patients aged 12 years and older is approved as well. We evaluated the feasibility of intravenous (IV) administration of perampanel as an alternative to oral administration.
