This cross-sectional study included 120 treatment-naïve HBsAg-positive children, with a male-to-female ratio of 1.8:1 and a mean age of 7.

Effect of Bariatric Surgery on the Cardiovascular System in Obese Cases with Pulmonary Hypertension.

Introduction And Aim: Recently, the incidence of obesity has been rising exponentially. Clinical studies have demonstrated that different subtypes of pulmonary hypertension (PH) are linked to obesity. Laparoscopic Treatment of a Hepatoduodenal Ligament Schwannoma With Infrared Indocyanine Green Fluorescence.

Schwannomas occurring in the hepatoduodenal ligament are extremely rare, with only four cases reported. Here, we describe a case of a 30-mm schwannoma that originated in the hepatoduodenal ligament of a 38-year-old female found during a periodic medical check-up. Magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated a tumor in the hepatoduodenal ligament.

Here, we aim to assess the performance of serum MicroRNA-155 and MicroRNA-665 as diagnostic biomarker for HCC comparing to AFP.

Pharmacokinetics of daclatasvir in Egyptian adolescents with genotype-4 HCV infection.

Background: Daclatasvir has potent antiviral activity against HCV infection when used in combination with sofosbuvir, however, its pharmacokinetics have not been described in adolescents. The aim is to determine the pharmacokinetic parameters of daclatasvir in adolescents, and to develop a population pharmacokinetic (PopPK) model.

Methods: Seventeen adolescent patients with genotype-4 chronic HCV infection received once daily oral daclatasvir 60 mg in combination with 400 mg sofosbuvir for 12 weeks.

Background: Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a common skin disorder affecting negatively patients' lives. Vitamin D deficiency has been reported to be associated to many allergic skin disorders.

A total of 915 chronic HCV patients with advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis who were treated with different DAAs-based regimens were retrospectively enrolled in final analysis.

Effect of weight loss induced by laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy on liver histology and serum adipokine levels.

Background & Aim: Bariatric surgery is a valid treatment option for persons with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This study prospectively examined the impact of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) on liver histopathology, and blood levels of adiponectin, leptin, resistin, and pre-B cell enhancing factor/Nampt/visfatin.

Patients & Methods: In 81 patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease who underwent LSG, paired liver biopsies and blood specimens were obtained before and 18 months after LSG.

Long-term Impact of Mini-Gastric Bypass on Inflammatory Cytokines in Cohort of Morbidly Obese Patients: a Prospective Study.

Purpose: One anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) is a promising bariatric procedure. We performed this study to evaluate the changes in a group of inflammatory cytokines 12 months after OAGB.

Methods: A single-arm prospective study was conducted on obese patients who underwent OAGB.
