The search for a Kitaev quantum spin liquid in crystalline magnetic materials has fueled intense interest in the two-dimensional honeycomb systems. The study examined the role of experiencing ethnic discrimination from teachers, other adults outside of school, and other students in predicting early substance use (measured with hair toxicology reports).

With little literature exploring the relationship between leadership styles within teams/departments and types of organizational culture in nursing education, we conducted an exploratory study to investigate leadership styles and culture types. An online survey using the Organizational Description Questionnaire was posted on two national nursing websites. Nearly 35 percent of participants in this pilot study (n = 43) identified their organization to be coasting, followed by high contrast (23%) and transformational (21%).

Background: Lugol's chromoendoscopy (LCE) is valuable, cost-effective, and widely used in early esophageal cancer (EEC) screening, yet it suffers from low compliance due to adverse events after LCE. In addition, the reflux of iodine during iodine staining in the upper esophagus brings the risk of bucking and aspiration. We introduced a new model called distance countdown (DC) aimed to reduce reflux during iodine staining in upper esophageal LCE.

Development of a novel fluorescence light-up Pb sensor using a G-quadruplex complex with modified thioflavin T.

Here, we developed a novel, cost-effective fluorescence light-up biosensor for Pb detection based on a label-free G-quadruplex combined with modified thioflavin T (ThT) derivatives. Among the various G-quadruplex sequences tested, only T2 exhibited fluorescence light-up properties upon interacting with the modified ThT derivatives in the presence of Pb. To enhance the Pb sensing system, we also compared modified ThT derivatives, including the newly synthesized propyl-substituted ThT (ThT-P) and butyl-substituted ThT (ThT-B).

Introduction: Children's early language and communication skills are efficiently measured using parent report, for example, communicative development inventories (CDIs). These have scalable potential to determine risk of later language delay, and associations between delay and risk factors such as prematurity and poverty. Urban vegetation provides essential ecosystem services and benefits to support biodiversity and human well-being in urban areas. However, the expansion of indications is going to worsen the chronic scarcity of organs, and new strategies are needed to enlarge the donor pool. A possible source of organs could be developing split liver transplantation (SLT) programs.
