Objectives: This study aimed to quantitatively investigate the intractable 'roller coaster effect' (RCE) that occurs in premolar extraction cases treated with clear aligner therapy (CAT) or straight-wire appliance (SWA).
Methods: Protrusion cases treated with extraction of bilateral first premolars were included. Pre- and post-treatment cephalograms were obtained to measure the bending angle of occlusal plane (BAOP), namely the occlusal intersection angle between the anterior occlusal plane (AOP) and posterior occlusal plane (POP).

Background: Hybrid closed-loop systems are a new class of technology to manage type 1 diabetes mellitus. The system includes a combination of real-time continuous glucose monitoring from a continuous glucose monitoring device and a control algorithm to direct insulin delivery through an insulin pump. Evidence suggests that such technologies have the potential to improve the lives of people with type 1 diabetes mellitus and their families.

Objectives: This study aimed to analyse the 2010-2018 cohort data of the National Health Insurance Service to examine the association between applying sealants in the first molars of children and their early dental impairment.
Methods: Based on the two-level mixed effect model (individual four teeth), the study participants were divided into two groups: those with sealants on all four first molars and those without sealants to determine the association between sealants and early impairment. We analysed teeth that had undergone extraction or canal filling to determine early impairment.

Oral cancer remains a persistent health challenge globally, with rising incidence and flat survival rates, particularly among disadvantaged populations. This paper explores the socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural factors contributing to inequalities in oral cancer care, such as limited access to healthcare, lower education levels, financial constraints and systemic disadvantages based on ethnicity and cultural practices. Addressing these inequalities requires a multi-faceted approach, including community outreach, patient education and policy advocacy.

Zygomatic implant surgery is an essential treatment option of oral rehabilitation for patients with severe maxillary defect, and preoperative planning is an important approach to enhance the surgical outcomes. However, the current planning still heavily relies on manual interventions, which is labor-intensive, experience-dependent, and poorly reproducible. Therefore, we propose ZygoPlanner, a pioneering efficient preoperative planning framework for zygomatic implantation, which may be the first solution that seamlessly involves the positioning of zygomatic bones, the generation of alternative paths, and the computation of optimal implantation paths.

Aim: To investigate whether trained immunity occurs in gingival fibroblasts (GFs) and its relationship to the persistence of inflammation in periodontitis.
Methods: Periodontally healthy and inflammatory gingival fibroblasts (HGFs and IGFs) were cultured through continuous adherence subculture of tissue blocks. Trained immunity in HGFs was evaluated via a classic in vitro model, with relevant markers assessed via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, lactate content assay, glycolytic rate assay, and chromatin immunoprecipitation.
