Mechanisms governing regional human adipose tissue (AT) development remain undefined. Here, we show that the long non-coding RNA HOTAIR (HOX transcript antisense RNA) is exclusively expressed in gluteofemoral AT, where it is essential for adipocyte development. Glucuronoxylomannan (AAPS) from the edible wood ear mushroom Auricularia auricula-judae has been demonstrated to exhibit immunostimulatory properties through its binding to TLR4. Novel low-pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) H5N2 viruses hit poultry farms in Taiwan in 2003, and evolved into highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) viruses in 2010. These viruses are reassortant viruses containing HA and NA genes from American-lineage H5N2 and six internal genes from local H6N1 viruses. An environmentally friendly thermosensitive nanovesicle-cloud point microextraction technique has been developed with the assistant of ultrasonic waves to determine analgesic drugs with a broad range of polarity in field water and human urine. Based on thin-film hydration, the conformation of nanovesicles formed by a binary mixing system with the nonionic surfactants was evaluated using regular and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy.
