Background: Bacteraemia and sepsis have traditionally required continued intravenous (IV) antibiotics.
Objectives: This study aims to evaluate if early transition to oral antibiotics is non-inferior to continued IV antibiotic therapy in treating patients with bacteraemia and sepsis.
Data Sources: Data sources include MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, and Wanfang databases from inception to 13 July 2024, along with clinical trial registries and Google.

Introduction: Remimazolam is an ultra-short-acting benzodiazepine sedative drug. This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of remimazolam with propofol for induction and maintenance of general anaesthesia in children undergoing elective surgery.
Methods: Children (aged 3-6 y, ASA physical status 1 or 2, BMI 14-25 kg.

Objective: The aetiology of CL/P is complicated, with both genetic and environmental factors. This study aimed to investigate the association between TCDD (2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin) exposure and changes in the expression of miR-214-3p in the context of cleft palate.
Design: In this study, we established a fetal mouse cleft palate model using TCDD and differentially expressed miRNAs were analysed by microarray analysis and verified by qRT-PCR.

Background: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are usually the basis of evidence-based medicine, but whether the results of RCTs can be correctly translated into clinical practice depends on the quality of the literature reported. In this study, we evaluated the general characteristics and quality of paediatric RCTs published in China to provide evidence for the reporting of paediatric RCTs and their application in clinical practice.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional observational study of paediatric RCTs published in paediatric journals in China between January 1, 1999, and December 30, 2022.

Purpose: To determine the 50% minimum effective concentration (MEC50) and the 95% effective concentration (MEC95) of ropivacaine for ultrasound-guided caudal block during hypospadias repair surgery of pediatric patients.
Methods: Children were enrolled with the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I-II undergoing elective hypospadias repair surgery. Children were grouped into two age groups: toddlerhood (1-3 years old) and preschool (3-6 years old).

Introduction: In-depth analysis of the rambling genes of atopic dermatitis may help to identify the pathologic mechanism of this disease. However, this has seldom been performed.
Aim: Using bioinformatics approaches, we analysed 3 gene expression profiles in the gene expression omnibus (GEO) database, identified the differentially expressed genes (DEGs), and found out the overlapping DEGs (common DEGs, cDEGs) in the above 3 profiles.

Background: The initial clinical manifestations and abdominal imaging findings of neonates with necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) and food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) are sometimes similar; however, their prognosis and therapies are different. We aimed to evaluate the utility of interleukin (IL)-27 as a differentiation marker between NEC and highly suspected early onset (HSEO)-FPIES.
Methods: All samples used in this study were obtained from the neonatal diagnosis centre of Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.

Objective: The sedative effects of dexmedetomidine (Dex) are similar to natural sleep, with easy wakening following Dex administration, and Dex has minor effects on breathing, reducing emergence agitation in children. The aim of this study was to systematically evaluate the effects of Dex on recovery quality in children following general anaesthesia with sevoflurane, to aid clinical decision making.
Methods: Relevant randomized controlled trials published before August 2019 were searched and selected from databases.
