Cardiometabolic disease (CMD), characterized with metabolic disorder triggered cardiovascular events, is a leading cause of death and disability. Metabolic disorders trigger chronic low-grade inflammation, and actually, a new concept of metaflammation has been proposed to define the state of metabolism connected with immunological adaptations. Amongst the continuously increased list of systemic metabolites in regulation of immune system, bile acids (BAs) represent a distinct class of metabolites implicated in the whole process of CMD development because of its multifaceted roles in shaping systemic immunometabolism.

Background: Kuding tea (KT), traditional tea material and widely used in China, has been found to have lipid-lowering effect in clinical and experimental studies. However, there has been no systematic review of the evidence on this subject.
Methods: Eight electronic databases were searched from database inception until September 2021 for relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

Background: Preliminary studies indicated that enhanced plasma levels of lipoprotein(a) [lp(a)] might link with the risk of calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD), but the clinical association between them remained inconclusive. This systematic review and meta-analysis were aimed to determine this association.
Methods: We comprehensively searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus databases for studies reporting the incidence of CAVD and their plasma lp(a) concentrations.

The present study aimed to explore the potential herb-drug interactions (HDI) between Shengmai injection (SMI) and losartan potassium (LOS) based on the expression profiles of cytochromes P450 (CYP450) and drug transporters in rat and . Different concentrations of SMI were used to explore the influence of SMI on the antihypertensive efficacy of LOS in the hypertension rat model established by N (omega)-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) for 4 weeks. Subsequently, the serum concentration levels of LOS and losartan carboxylic acid (EXP3174) were determined by Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and pharmacokinetic analysis.

Background: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is an increasing public health concern. Currently, data regarding the clinical application value of plasma Galectin-3 (Gal-3) in HFpEF are contradictory. Therefore, we performed the following meta-analysis to appraise the clinical implications of serum Gal-3 in HFpEF, including its capacity to predict new-onset disease, long-term unfavorable endpoints, and the degree of cardiac structural abnormality and left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD).

Platelet-derived exosomes (PLT-Exos) are the main subtype of extracellular vesicles secreted by platelets, which carry proteins, nucleotides, lipids, and other substances to acceptor cells, playing an important role in intercellular communication. PLT-Exos increase with platelet activation and are involved in the process of atherothrombosis by delivering cargo to acceptor cells. Atherosclerotic plaque rupture, causing thrombosis and arterial occlusion, is the basic pathological change leading to cardiovascular events.

Vessel recanalization is the main treatment for ischemic stroke; however, not all patients benefit from it. This lack of treatment benefit is related to the accompanying ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury. Therefore, neuroprotective therapy for I/R Injury needs to be further studied.

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the main causes of death in the world, and the incidence of AMI is increasing in the young population. Drug-coated balloon (DCB) has become an effective concept for the treatment of in-stent restenosis, small vessel disease, bifurcation lesions, high blood risk conditions, and even de novo large vessel disease. To ensure whether DCB can play an alternative role in AMI, we conducted a comprehensive meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate the efficacy and safety of DCB in the treatment of AMI.

Objective: To explore the effectiveness on exogenous fever and the characteristics of effective population, as well as the specialties of prescription of acupoint application.
Methods: Using the internet electronic diagnosis and treatment platform (Spring Broadcast Wanxiangyun Clinic Database, and the main TCM suitable technology promoted by this platform is acupoint application therapy), from August 24, 2020 to November 5, 2020, the patients complained with fever and diagnosed as common cold, with a record of initial visit and at least one return visit, were included as the subjects. According to whether acupoint application therapy was received or not, the subjects were divided into an exposure group (with acupoint application therapy, 26 664 cases) and a non-exposure group (without acupoint application therapy, 515 cases).

Background: Tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) is an alkaloid in Chinese herbal medicine, which possesses antiplatelet activity. TMP inhibits platelet activation in many ways. The platelet P2Y receptor for adenosine 5' diphosphate (ADP) plays a central role in platelet function, hemostasis, and thrombosis.

Following an acute myocardial infarction (AMI), thrombolysis, coronary artery bypass grafting and primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) are the best interventions to restore reperfusion and relieve the ischemic myocardium, however, the myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) largely offsets the benefits of revascularization in patients. Studies have demonstrated that autophagy is one of the important mechanisms mediating the occurrence of the MIRI, while non-coding RNAs are the main regulatory factors of autophagy, which plays an important role in the autophagy-related mTOR signaling pathways and the process of autophagosome formation Therefore, non-coding RNAs may be used as novel clinical diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets in the diagnosis and treatment of the MIRI. In this review, we not only describe the effect of non-coding RNA regulation of autophagy on MIRI outcome, but also zero in on the regulation of non-coding RNA on autophagy-related mTOR signaling pathways and mitophagy.

Pyroptosis is a special way of programmed cell death which is dependent on the activation of cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase 1 (Caspase-1) and Caspase-4/5/11. Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent cell death that characterized by the intra-cellular lipid peroxidation-mediated membrane damage. Pyroptosis or ferroptosis in macrophages, smooth muscle cells, and vascular endothelial cells are believed to be closely related to the progression of atherosclerotic plaques.
