Article Synopsis
  • The study utilizes GIS techniques to analyze and document the levels of cesium-137 in Greece from 1998 to 2015, particularly following the Chernobyl and Fukushima nuclear accidents.
  • Data from various sources, including the Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory and the European Atlas of Cesium Deposition, aid in both spatial and temporal analyses of cesium-137 concentrations.
  • The findings contribute to understanding the long-term environmental impacts of radionuclides, providing essential information for risk assessment and remediation strategies related to low-level ionizing radiation exposure in specific organisms.
