The concentration of natural radionuclides Ra, Th and K in ceramic tiles manufactured in Poland is presented in this paper. The concentration of natural radioactive isotopes in the tested samples was determined using a low-level digital gamma ray spectrometer equipped with an HPGe semiconductor detector. The mean concentrations of Ra, Th and K in the analyzed samples were found to be 48 ± 3 Bq∙kg, 49 ± 3 Bq∙kg and 476 ± 23 Bq∙kg, respectively.

This paper analyzes the behavior of the entropy of a nuclear fuel rod under deep burnup conditions, beyond standard operational ranges, reaching up to 60 years. The evolution of the neutron source distribution in a pressurized water reactor (PWR) fuel pin was analyzed using the Monte Carlo method and Shannon information entropy. To maintain proper statistics, a novel scaling method was developed, adjusting the neutron population based on the fission rate.

Background: Therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals [¹⁷⁷Lu]Lu-DOTA-TATE and [⁹⁰Y]Y-DOTA-TATE are used in peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) of neuroendocrine tumors. One of the factors determining the efficacy of such therapy is administering the radiopharmaceutical dose to the patients in a way consistent with treatment planning. This paper evaluates the loss of [¹⁷⁷Lu]Lu-DOTA-TATE and [⁹⁰Y]Y-DOTA-TATE and their mixed doses during the administration to the patient either by direct infusion or by gravity method.

This article presents a study on the functional properties and morphology of coatings based on amorphous silicon oxycarbide modified with phosphate ions and comodified with aluminum and boron. The objective of this modification was to enhance the biocompatibility and bioactivity without affecting its protective properties. The comodification was aimed toward stabilization of phosphate in the structure.

This study determines the possibilities of synthesis of porous glass-ceramic materials based on Bioglass 45S5 using different methods obtained porous materials. In this work used foaming with sintering method for the set: bioglass 45S5 + glass cullet (CRT) + glass water (WG) and method sintering with forming-pore agents for the: bioglass + glass water (WG) + dried banana peels. The sets were melting and the next step sintering process.

The first search for soft unclustered energy patterns (SUEPs) is performed using an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, collected in 2016-2018 by the CMS detector at the LHC. Such SUEPs are predicted by hidden valley models with a new, confining force with a large 't Hooft coupling. In events with boosted topologies, selected by high-threshold hadronic triggers, the multiplicity and sphericity of clustered tracks are used to reject the background from standard model quantum chromodynamics.

We present a comparative analysis of the plethora of nonextensive and/or nonadditive entropies which go beyond the standard Boltzmann-Gibbs formulation. After defining the basic notions of additivity, extensivity, and composability, we discuss the properties of these entropies and their mutual relations, if they exist. The results are presented in two informative tables that are of strong interest to the gravity and cosmology community in the context of the recently intensively explored horizon entropies for black hole and cosmological models.

RE-doped β-GaO seems attractive for future high-power LEDs operating in high irradiation environments. In this work, we pay special attention to the issue of radiation-induced defect anisotropy in β-GaO, which is crucial for device manufacturing. New results are presented on a high-statistics measurement of Collins and Sivers asymmetries of charged hadrons produced in deep inelastic scattering of muons on a transversely polarized ^{6}LiD target. The data were taken in 2022 with the COMPASS spectrometer using the 160 GeV muon beam at CERN, statistically balancing the existing data on transversely polarized proton targets. The first results from about two-thirds of the new data have total uncertainties smaller by up to a factor of three compared to the previous deuteron measurements.

Positronium is abundantly produced within the molecular voids of a patient's body during positron emission tomography (PET). Its properties dynamically respond to the submolecular architecture of the tissue and the partial pressure of oxygen. Current PET systems record only two annihilation photons and cannot provide information about the positronium lifetime.
