Background: Minimally invasive esophagectomy is the first-line approach for esophageal cancer; however, there has recently been a paradigm shift toward robotic esophagectomy (RE). We investigated the clinical outcomes of patients who underwent RE compared with those of patients who underwent conventional minimally invasive thoracoscopic esophagectomy (TE) for locally advanced cT3 or cT4 esophageal cancer using a propensity-matched analysis.
Methods: Overall, 342 patients with locally advanced cT3 or cT4 esophageal cancer underwent transthoracic esophagectomy with total mediastinal lymph node dissection between 2018 and 2022.

Background: Patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer may have poor prognoses and short overall and disease-free survival. Most previous studies focused on assessing the quality of life and health-state utility of the general population of breast cancer patients. The number of studies for HER2-positive breast cancer patients is negligible.

Purpose: Many patients with early breast cancer (eBC) undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy do not achieve pathological complete response (pCR), which is a prognostic factor. We examined the role of HER2-low expression in predicting pCR and prognosis in HER2-negative eBC.
Methods: We evaluated patients with stage I-III HER2-negative BC, treated between 2013 and 2023 at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, London.

Subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma (SPTLP), a unique variant of primary cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, clinically mimics subcutaneous panniculitis. It is typified by the development of multiple plaques or subcutaneous erythematous nodules, predominantly on the extremities and trunk. Epidemiological findings reveal a greater incidence in females than males, affecting a wide demographic, including pediatric and adult cohorts, with a median onset age of around 30 years.

However, real-world studies on this topic are limited. This study aimed to evaluate afatinib as first-line therapy for locally advanced and metastatic NSCLC with uncommon EGFR mutations.

Background: Cervical cancer remains a leading cause of death, particularly in developing countries. WHO screening guidelines recommend human papilloma virus (HPV) detection as a means to identify women at risk of developing cervical cancer. While HPV testing identifies those at risk, it does not specifically distinguish individuals with neoplasia.

Background: Mobilized peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) have been widely used instead of bone marrow (BM) as the graft source for allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT). Although early studies demonstrated no significant differences in survival between PBSC transplantation (PBSCT) and BM transplantation (BMT) from human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-identical sibling donors to adults with hematological malignancies, recent results have been unclear.
Objective: The objective of this retrospective study was to compare overall survival (OS), relapse, non-relapse mortality (NRM), hematopoietic recovery and graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) between PBSCT and BMT according to the time period of HCT (2003-2008, 2009-2014, or 2015-2020).

Aim: Sleep disorders are common in cancer patients and have negative consequences for patient well-being and treatment outcomes. This study aimed to investigate sleep quality and related factors in Vietnamese middle-aged cancer patients.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 246 middle-aged in-patient cancer patients at Vietnam National Cancer Hospital (VNCH) from 1/2021 to 7/2021.

Background: Breast cancer is the most common malignancy and remains the first cause of death related to cancer among Vietnamese women, with an incidence of 21,555 cases in 2020. Most breast cancer patients present with invasive disease and relatively large tumor sizes. While oncoplastic surgery (OPS) are commonly applied in Western countries, data on Asian population remains relatively limited.

Background: Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and 3D image-guided brachytherapy (3D-IGBT) have recently been introduced in Vietnam for the treatment of locally advanced cervical cancer. This study aims to assess the outcomes and toxicities of chemoradiation using VMAT followed by 3D-IGBT in Vietnamese cervical cancer patients.
Materials And Methods: A prospective interventional study on 72 patients with 2018 International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage IB3-IIIC2 disease who underwent concurrent chemoradiation using VMAT, followed by 3D-IGBT according to EMBRACE-II protocol.
Purpose: To update an evidence-based guideline to assist in clinical decision-making for patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: ASCO convened an Expert Panel to update the 2020 guideline on systemic therapy for HCC. The panel updated the systematic review to include randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published through October 2023 and updated recommendations.

Background: In the phase III HIMALAYA study (NCT03298451) in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC), STRIDE (Single Tremelimumab Regular Interval Durvalumab) significantly improved overall survival (OS) versus sorafenib; durvalumab monotherapy was noninferior to sorafenib for OS. Results reported herein are from a 4-year updated OS analysis of HIMALAYA.
Patients And Methods: Participants with uHCC and no previous systemic treatment were randomized to STRIDE (n = 393), durvalumab (n = 389), or sorafenib (n = 389).

Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has been documented as the most aggressive subtype of breast cancer. This study aimed to analyze antitumor and protumor immune activities, and their ratios as significant prognostic biomarkers in metastatic TNBC (mTNBC).
Methods: A multicenter cohort study was conducted among 103 de novo mTNBC patients.
Purpose: E7389-LF is a liposomal formulation of the microtubule dynamics inhibitor eribulin and has shown preliminary efficacy in the treatment of gastric cancer. Study 120, a phase Ib/II open-label study, assessed efficacy and safety of E7389-LF in combination with nivolumab, a programmed cell death (PD)-1 inhibitor. This report focuses on the gastric cancer cohort within the expansion phase.

Introduction: Thyroid tumours are a common condition and open surgery is a conventional method for treating benign thyroid tumours when surgery is indicated. In this study, we evaluate the outcomes of benign thyroid tumour treatment using transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via vestibular approach (TOETVA) and compare the results with those of conventional open thyroidectomy (COT).
Patients And Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study between 100 patients who underwent TOETVA and 100 who underwent COT surgery for benign diseases from June 2018 to December 2021 in our hospital.

Background: Recently, modified radical neck dissection (MRND) for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) has been performed by the transoral endoscopic approach. However, dissection of level II lymph nodes using only the transoral approach is highly difficult because of the inadequate axis of surgical view. Hence, we decided to combine the transoral and chest approaches to perform MRND.
