Introduction: This study investigated segmented assimilation patterns and factors influencing health education utilization (HEU) among internal migrant populations in China, driven by concerns over their declining health owing to urbanization-related changes.

Methods: Data from the 2017 China Migrants Dynamic Survey were analyzed, focusing on 13,998 rural migrants. Negative binomial regression was used to explore assimilation patterns and determine the factors affecting HEU among internal migrants in China.

Introduction: The Swiss allocation system for kidney transplantation has evolved over time to balance medical urgency, immunological compatibility, and waiting time. Since the introduction of the transplantation law in 2007, which imposed organ allocation on a national level, the algorithm has been optimized. Initially based on waiting time, HLA compatibility, and crossmatch performed by cell complement-dependent cytotoxicity techniques, the system moved in 2012 to a score including HLA compatibility, waiting time, anti-HLA antibodies detected by the Luminex technology, and a virtual crossmatch.

Influenza vaccine hesitancy and its determinants among Lebanese public transportation drivers.

Introduction: According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, ensuring influenza vaccination for public transportation drivers is considered a public health objective, given that these drivers are at high risk of contracting influenza. The main purpose of this cross-sectional study is, thus, to evaluate influenza vaccine hesitancy (VH) and its determinants among a representative sample of Lebanese public transportation drivers.

Methods: A survey questionnaire is conducted between January and March 2023, with the participation of a proportionate purposeful sample of 509 drivers from various regions in Lebanon.

There is strong epidemiological evidence that development of various cancer types is linked to infection with flukes (Platyhelminthes: Trematoda) in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The exact nature of the mechanism by which cancer is induced by these parasites is unknown. Here, we provide a new hypothesis suggesting that flukes are not the primary cause of cancer but act as vectors of cancer-inducing microbial pathogens.

Urethra-sparing prostate cancer radiotherapy: Current practices and future insights from an international survey.

Purpose: In prostate cancer patients, high radiation doses to the urethra have been associated with an increased risk of severe genitourinary toxicity following dose-escalated radiotherapy. Urethra-sparing techniques have emerged as a promising approach to reduce urinary toxicity. This international survey aims to evaluate current global practices in urethra-sparing and explore future directions for the implementation of this technique in external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) for prostate cancer.

To date, the molecular mechanisms governing leaf development including leaf venation patterning remains poorly understood in birch. Here, we performed the genome-wide identification of homeodomain-like (HD-like) superfamily genes using phylogenetic analysis and revealed the functional role of a potential HD-like gene in leaf growth and development using transgenic technology and transcriptomic sequencing.
