Introduction: Patients with adult spinal deformity (ASD) lean forward with their trunks when walking, even if they can remain upright during static standing. However, it remains unclear which part of the spinal column is involved in forward trunk tilt and the details of the relationships between sagittal alignment during static standing and changes in dynamic parameters during walking. Therefore, this study aimed to clarify the above by analyzing the walking motion of ASD patients using inertial measurement units (IMUs).

Objective: We describe two cases of myelopathy onset due to intracranial dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVFs) and present a literature review.
Case Presentation: (Case 1) A 44-year-old man with subacute onset myelopathy underwent an MRI and DSA. MRI showed T2-hyperintensity from the medulla oblongata to the cervical spinal cord with vascular flow voids, suggestive of a spinal DAVF.

The COMBO stent is a unique stent on which the CD34 antibody is mounted to capture CD34 + endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) and from which sirolimus is eluted to suppress neointimal hyperplasia. The COMBO stent aims to induce early re-endothelialization and vascular healing and to prevent restenosis. In the clinical setting, however, the effects of the COMBO stent have not been validated in terms of EPC biology.

Background: Low plasma levels of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are associated with cardiovascular events. This trial aimed to assess the clinical benefits of icosapent ethyl in patients with coronary artery disease, a low EPA/arachidonic acid (AA) ratio, and statin treatment.
Methods: In this prospective, multicenter, randomized, open-label, blinded end-point study, patients with stable coronary artery disease and a low EPA/AA ratio (<0.
This case report documents the diagnosis of multiple myeloma (MM) in a 74-year-old man following treatment for locally advanced prostate cancer. It is important to include MM in the differential diagnosis when the patient presents with nonspecific symptoms such as back pain, anemia, and renal impairment in the absence of a prominent increase in prostate-specific antigen (PSA). The present case was diagnosed as IgE MM with a poor prognosis.

Background: Recent large clinical trials have revealed that sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors improve cardiovascular outcomes not only in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, but also in patients with heart failure with mildly reduced or preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). However, the effect of SGLT2 inhibitors on left ventricular (LV) diastolic function is still controversial.
Methods And Results: The TOP-HFPEF trial (Efficacy of Tofogliflozin on Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction in Patients with Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus) is a multicenter, double-arm, open-label, confirmatory, investigator-initiated clinical study to investigate the effect of SGLT2 inhibitor on LV diastolic function in patients with HFpEF and type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Purpose: To report an unusual case of combined Lie's types A and D of internal carotid artery (ICA) agenesis, diagnosed by magnetic resonance angiography (MRA).
Methods: A 60-year-old woman with dizziness underwent cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and MRA of the intracranial region for the evaluation of brain and vascular lesions. The magnetic resonance machine was a 3.
Introduction: Oligometastatic prostate cancer can be well-controlled through combined local and metastasis-directed therapies. However, the effects of cytoreductive radical prostatectomy and metastasectomy remain unclear.
Case Presentation: A 52-year-old man presented with prostate cancer and isolated bone metastasis to the thoracic spine.

An artificial sphincter implanted in the bulbous urethra to treat severe postprostatectomy urinary incontinence is effective, but embedding-associated complications can occur. We assessed the feasibility, efficacy, and safety of urethral graciloplasty cross-innervated by the pudendal nerve. A simulation surgery on three male fresh cadavers was performed.

The presence of an intravesical foreign body is a rare condition concerning the diseases of the urinary system. Intravesical foreign bodies may cause hematuria and bladder perforation, which are difficult to diagnose and treat. There are various types of foreign bodies in the bladder; however, magnetic beads are rare.

Objective: In the present retrospective study, we evaluated potentially predictive factors and determined receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve cut-off values for effective detection of patients at higher risk of re-hospitalization due to postoperative infection after total laparoscopic hysterectomy.
Materials And Methods: We included 168 patients who had undergone laparoscopic hysterectomy. Data were collected from medical records.

Background: The choice of operative method for lumbar spinal stenosis with Meyerding grade I degenerative spondylolisthesis remains controversial. The purpose of this study was to identify the preoperative factors affecting the 2-year postoperative patient-reported outcome in Meyerding grade I degenerative spondylolisthesis.
Methods: Seventy-two consecutive patients who had minimally invasive decompression alone (D group; 28) or with fusion (DF group; 44) were enrolled.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a major cause of microvascular dysfunction. However, its effect on blood flow patterns during ischemic demand has not been adequately elucidated. In this study, we investigated the hypothesis that microvascular dysfunction in patients with T2DM manifests as brachial reactive hyperemia (BRH), defined as the ratio of peak blood flow velocities in a brachial artery before and after forearm cuff occlusion.

Objectives: To assess the usefulness of case reports as sources for research on diagnostic errors in uncommon diseases and atypical presentations.
Content: We reviewed 563 case reports of diagnostic error. The commonality of the final diagnoses was classified based on the description in the articles, Orphanet, or epidemiological data on available references; the typicality of presentation was classified based on the description in the articles and the judgment of the physician researchers.

Background: We evaluated the efficacy of the factor Xa inhibitor rivaroxaban on the differentiation ability of vascular endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs), which play roles in vascular injury repair and atherogenesis. Antithrombotic treatment in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is challenging, and current guidelines recommend oral anticoagulant monotherapy 1 year or more after PCI. However, biological evidence of the pharmacological effects of anticoagulants is insufficient.

This study aimed to describe the real-world efficacy and safety of the combination therapy of atezolizumab and bevacizumab (Atezo/Bev) for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This retrospective analysis of a multicenter registry cohort included 268 patients treated with Atezo/Bev. The incidence of adverse events (AE) and its impact on overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were analyzed.

Purpose: Skin injury in patients due to radiation exposure has been a complication in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for a long time. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no reports comparing radiation dose by treatment area with diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) 2020, although the radiation dose varies by treatment area in PCI.
Methods: In this study, the treatment areas were classified into four segments (i.
