Background: Chronic large to massive rotator cuff tears are difficult to treat and re-tears are common even after surgical repair. We propose using a synthetic polypropylene mesh to increase the tensile strength of rotator cuff repairs. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to assess retinal oxygen metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes and different stages of nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy (DR) (n = 67) compared with healthy control subjects (n = 20). Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is the most common gastrointestinal emergency in preterm infants. Survivors may suffer both short- and long-term morbidities. Current evidence suggests that the incidence of NEC can be reduced by standardizing the care delivery in addressing key risk factors including an altered gut microbiome, use of formula milk, hyperosmolar feeds, and unrestricted use of high-risk medications METHODS: Since 2014, the department has a workgroup who analyzed all cases of NEC within a month of diagnosis to identify preventable risk factors.

Given the interpersonal nature of recruiting and the validity of personality assessments for predicting performance in a broad range of civilian and military jobs, personality traits are likely to predict the performance of recruiters in the Army as well. However, much of the research on the characteristics of successful recruiters has been conducted in civilian samples and has not examined the effects of recruiters' personality on their job-related attitudes and behaviors. Although some research has examined the prediction of recruiter performance in a military context, more research is needed to identify profiles of personality traits that will help recruiters to be successful on the job.

Stoma surgery can be a life-changing procedure due to bodily changes and related psychological responses. Despite previous literature identifying unique challenges for young adults living with a long-term condition, no studies have explored the biographical implications of stoma formation.
