Background: miR-103a-3p has been reported to be a factor leading to poor prognosis in several human malignancies, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Secreted microRNAs containing exosomes may mediate the communication between cancer and stromal cells. The purpose of the current work was to learn more about miR-103a-3p's function in NPC exosomes.

Background: The bortezomib (BTZ) resistance mechanisms in mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) are complex, involving various genes and signaling pathways. This study used bioinformatical tools to identify and analyze differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with BTZ resistance.
Methods: Gene chip datasets containing MCL BTZ-resistant and normal control cohorts (GSE20915 and GSE51371) were selected from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.

Background: Emerging evidence has underscored the crucial role of infiltrating immune cells in the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) development and progression. With the implementation of screening programs, the incidence of early-stage NSCLC is rising. However, the high risk of recurrence and poor survival rates associated with this disease necessitate a deeper understanding of the TIME and its relationship with driver alterations.

Melittin is preclinically investigated as anticancer agent in multiple tumor types. But its regulation role and regulatory mechanism regarding NSCLC is unknown. In our investigation, Proteomic test was employed to identify proteins that expressed abnormally in cancer cells and that with Melittin treatmented.

Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cellular adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1), an extensively studied cell surface molecule, mainly expressed by certain epithelial, endothelial, lymphoid and myeloid cells, and is an attractive target for cancer immunotherapy. Here, to investigate the anti-tumor effects and mechanisms of CEACAM1 antibody, we prepared the antibody and explored its anti-tumor effects on Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) in vitro and in vivo. Firstly, antigen of human CEACAM1 recombinant protein was immunized on BALB/c mice and the high-affinity mouse anti-human monoclonal antibody 3C11 was selected by hybridoma technique.

Objectives: Sepsis, caused by the body's response to infection, poses a life-threatening condition and represents a significant global health challenge. Characterized by dysregulated immune response to infection, sepsis may lead to organ dysfunction and failure, ultimately resulting in high mortality rates. The liver plays a crucial role in sepsis, yet the role of differentially expressed genes in septic patients remains unclear in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Circular RNAs (circRNA) are a class of covalently-closed, single-stranded RNAs that have been implicated in cancer progression due to their regulation of metabolism. However, the roles of circRNA in prostate cancer remain largely unknown. In this study, fluorescence in situ hybridization and RT-qPCR were used to investigate hsa_circ_0006620 expressions in both prostate cancer cells and tissues, after high-throughput sequencing.

Cervical cancer accounts for 10-15% of cancer-related mortality among women globally. Infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) types constitutes a significant etiological factor in the development of cervical carcinoma. The integration of HPV DNA into the host genome is considered a pivotal event in cervical carcinogenesis.

To describe the epidemiological characteristics and trends of leukemia incidence in Qidong between 1972 and 2021, and provide guidelines for prevention and control measures and strategies. The cancer registry data was collected and analyzed on leukemia incidence during 1972-2021 in Qidong by sex, age and time. Crude incidence rate (CR), China age-standardized rate (ASRC), world age-standardized rate (ASRW), and average annual change percentage (AAPC) was calculated by Joinpoint software.

Introduction: Mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC)-based cell therapy is a promising approach for various inflammatory disorders based on their immunosuppressive capacity. Osteopontin (OPN) regulates several cellular functions including tissue repair, bone metabolism and immune reaction. However, the biological function of OPN in regulating the immunosuppressive capacity of MSCs remains elusive.

Metastatic colorectal cancer continues to have a high fatality rate, with approximately only 14% of patients surviving more than 5 years. To improve the survival rate of these patients, the development of new therapeutic drugs is a priority. In this study, we investigated the effects of Oroxylin A on the metastasis of human colorectal cancer cells and its potential molecular mechanism.

MutL homolog 1 (MLH1) is a component of the heterodimeric complex MutLα that detects and fixes base-base mismatches and insertion/deletion loops caused by nucleotide misincorporation. In the absence of MLH1 protein, the frequency of non-repaired mismatches increases, resulting in organ cancer. The current study sought to quantify MLH1 gene expression and its relationship with tumor invasion (T) and lymph node invasion (N) in blood samples from patients with colorectal cancer (CRC).

The long-term benefits of direct-acting antiviral (DAA) therapy after achieving sustained virological response (SVR) remain uncertain in the Chinese population. This study evaluates the incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), hepatic decompensation, and all-cause mortality among Chinese hepatitis C patients treated with DAAs. We included patients diagnosed since 2011 and followed them until November 1, 2022.

Purpose Of Review: This review aims to synthesize the old issues and current understandings of the etiology of liver cancer, focusing on the diverse causative factors influenced by geographical, socioeconomic, and lifestyle variations across different regions.
Recent Findings: We highlight significant geographic disparities in liver cancer risk factors. While hepatitis B and C viruses, aflatoxin exposure, and alcohol consumption remain globally established contributors; metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease and metabolic syndromes are increasingly prominent in the West.
