Background: SLC35F6 negatively regulates outer mitochondrial membrane permeability and positively regulates apoptotic signaling pathways and cell population proliferation. The biological function of SLC35F6 in bladder cancer (BC) remains inadequately established. This study evaluates the expression and clinical significance of SLC35F6 in BC, assesses its prognostic value and explores its relationship with key immune-related molecules in the tumor microenvironment.

Objectives: To investigate the potential of intratumoral and peritumoral radiomics derived from T2-weighted MRI to preoperatively predict extrapelvic peritoneal metastasis (EPM) in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC).
Methods: In this retrospective study, 488 patients from four centers were enrolled and divided into training (n = 245), internal test (n = 105), and external test (n = 138) sets. Intratumoral and peritumoral models were constructed based on radiomics features extracted from the corresponding regions.

Accumulating evidence has shown that tRNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs) play crucial roles in malignant tumor development. However, whether serum tsRNAs can act as potential biological markers for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are still largely unknown. In the current study, a novel tsRNA, namely tsRNA-Thr-5-0015, was prominently elevated in the sera of HCC patients than that of hepatitis cases and healthy check-ups, and it was related with TNM stage and lymphatic metastasis of HCC patients.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a globally prevalent form of cancer, is featured by aggressive growth and early metastasis. Elucidating the underlying mechanism and identifying the effective therapy are critical for advanced HCC patients. In the study, we detect that KRT80 was upregulated in HCC samples.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a lethal cancer with a very low 5-year survival rate, which is partially attributed to chemoresistance. Although the regulation of chemoresistance through biochemical signaling is well-documented, the influence of three-dimensional (3D) matrix stiffness is poorly understood. In this study, gelatin methacrylate (GelMA) hydrogels were reconstructed with stiffnesses spanning the range from normal to cancerous PDAC tissues, which are termed as the soft group and stiff group.

Tumors, as chronic malignant diseases that account for about 20% of all deaths worldwide, are the number one threat to human health. Until now there is no reliable treatment for most types of tumors. Tumorigenesis and cellular carcinogenesis remain difficult challenges due to their complex etiology and unknown mechanisms.

Pulmonary delivery of small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) is an effective treatment for acute lung injury (ALI), which can modulate the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and alleviate the symptoms of ALI. However, the rapid degradation of siRNA in vivo and its limited ability to target and validate cells are important challenges it faces in clinical practice. In this work, we developed neutrophil membrane-coated Poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles loaded with TLR4 siRNA (si-TLR4) (Neutrophil-NP-TLR4), which can target both inflammatory and macrophage cells to alleviate the pulmonary inflammation in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced ALI mice.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality, with a high rate of postoperative recurrence and poor long-term survival. The Eyes Absent (EYA) protein family plays a significant role in cancer progression, with EYA3 being implicated in promoting GC cell proliferation and tumor growth. Utilizing the DepMap database, we identified EYA3 as a gene of interest in GC.

Gastric cancer (GC) is the third leading cause of death in developed countries. The reprogramming of energy metabolism represents a hallmark of cancer, particularly amplified dependence on aerobic glycolysis. Here, we aimed to illustrate the functional role of glutamate ionotropic receptor N-methyl-D-aspartate type subunit 2D (GRIN2D) in the regulation of glycolysis in GC and the mechanisms involved.

Background: Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells interact to promote HCC progression, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Serpin family E member 1 (SERPINE1) has conflicting roles in HCC, and microRNAs (miRNAs) are known to regulate tumor progression through intercellular communication. Therefore, we investigated the potential involvement of miRNA/SERPINE1 axis in crosstalk between CAFs and HCC cells.

In our present study, we investigated the interaction between HSCs and HCC, also explored the molecular mechanism. Clinical samples were collected from HCC and adjacent tissue with different degree of liver fibrosis. HCC cells were co-cultured with LX-2 cell by Transwell system or cultured with conditioned medium (CM), which was collected from LX-2.

Exosomes, extracellular vesicles originating from endosomes, were discovered in the late 1980s and their function in intercellular communication has since garnered considerable interest. Exosomes are lipid bilayer-coated vesicles that range in size from 30 to 150 nm and appear as sacs under the electron microscope. Exosome secretion is crucial for cell-to-cell contact in both normal physiology and the development and spread of tumors.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is characterized by frequent intrahepatic and distant metastases, resulting in a poor prognosis for patients. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) plays a pivotal role in this process. However, the expression of NOP2/Sun RNA methyltransferase 5 (NSUN5) in HCC and its role in mediating EMT remain poorly understood.

Carbon-nitride-based (CN-based) materials have shown great potential in combination therapy in recent years. Due to their outstanding biocompatibility, ease of modification, and adjustable band-gap position, CN-based materials can be applied as photosensitizers in photodynamic therapy (PDT) and light-driven water-splitting catalysts in gas therapy. After doping with other elements, the photocatalytic performance of CN-based materials will be enhanced, and more interesting functions will be obtained.
